LOL! You pretty much go that right!

But, you know a delegate chase is worth a try.

It is just as worth it to help Newt stick it in the eye of the GOP RINO Wall Street urban elites whether he wins the nomination or not. At least we’ll make it a tough, uphill slog for them to forcefeed us their hand-picked candidate. Any motivation they have to maybe think twice next time about wasting this kind of cash on a primary to force a despicable selection on us is a good thing. Let’s not let Romney finish this thing early. And we can still hope for a miracle to deny him the nomination by the time the convention rolls around. Maybe he’s already bagged a slutty intern videographer on the campaign trail that we don’t know about yet like Monsieur Edwards.

Newt’s done more for the conservative movement than all but a handful of people since the dawn of the Reagan era. Santorum isn’t even a blip on the radar screen. Santorum was one of the Republican leaders who helped squander the majority Newt built in Congress and whose missteps made it possible for Obamacare to be forced on us.

I have never considered Newt to be a real conservative. He suppported the individual mandate (along with the Heritage Foundation), the prescription drug program (the biggest expansion of the entitlement programs since Medicare Parts A and B and an unfunded liabililty of $7.2 trillion), green conservatism and the proposition that global warming was manmade and should be addressed urgrently), amnesty for illegal aliens, etc.

I didn't like his associations with Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Al Sharpton all under the guise that we could all work together. Nor did I like his support of Dede Scozzafava over a real conservative--Hoffman.

I have always viewed Newt as a chameleon who lacked principle in his public and personal life. But that's me---

Newt is delusional.

Maybe so, maybe not. But by this statement of yours, you proce that YOU are truly delusional: "Santorum was the last true conservative left in the race."

Santorum was no conservative at all. He was and remains a Statist through and through.

That worked great, didn’t it?

It might have if it weren't for the fact that Perot chose to expound at length on national television about George HW Bush's nefarious plans to disrupt his daughters wedding. Once he did that he forever painted himself as a paranoid nutter.

What are your excuses for George Wallace, Pat Buchanan, Ralph Nader, John Anderson, the Libertarians, the other various 3rd party fantacies?

Which is a laughable series of accusations to level at the same time you call Santorum a “true conservative.” Santorum passed the prescription drug program, endorsed Arlen Specter and Mitt Romney, and touted the “moderate” legislation he wrote with Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer and Joe Lieberman in his campaign ads.

Newt always touts reaching across the aisle when he finds issues he agrees with Democrats on. Nothing wrong with that. To look at the totality of his career, votes and accomplishments and think Newt is some kind of chameleon or opportunist is beyond absurd. The man fought against GOP moderates like Dole for years and even tried to push Reagan to the right. When Clinton was President, he pushed Clinton to the right. He has a lifetime 90% ACU rating. If you want to focus on the 10%, that’s your choice. But don’t claim Santorum, an 88% ACU guy, is pure as the driven snow.

And what is YOUR excuse for dragging these irrelevancies into what was otherwise a relatively coherent conversation?

Here’s a statement from Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan:

“Governor Perry will strongly endorse and work for the Republican nominee, since our priority must be to replace President Obama and his destructive policies. As a former U.S. military officer and a proud Aggie, Rick Perry puts a premium on loyalty and therefore today remains Newt Gingrich backer.”

Third parties accomplish nothing, and can lead to the 1992 result of electing Clinton with 43% of the votes. That is not an excuse, rather a fact.

Yes, I knew it, you are simply a Pauler, who doesn’t like social conservatives.

And from where do you get the notion that I support a third party possibility?

The fact is that Perot soured me on that option forever.

That is nothing but your fevered imagination at work spewing on fact-free assertions.
