Fox News ^ | 4-10-12 | Unknown

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was just on the Mike Huckabee Radio show, and commented on Santorum suspending his own presidential campaign just moments ago. On the show, Gingrich discussed finally getting to be ’1-on-1′ with Romney, how he will campaign going forward, and a possible debate in North Carolina with the current front-runner.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Another bunny down, and Newt- a man of Destiny- continues to the finish line. -:) Nothing to fear, so long as one stands in the shadow of the Cross.

I'm in, til Newt says he's out.

Newt could probably get back on top if he’d talk about Obama and turning this country around instead of the pissing contest he’s been in with Romney.

I think that’s how Santorum kept winning, a more positive message.

I wonder if Santorum’s delegates can go to Newt, or is it up to the delegates who they will now back?

Depends on the rules of the individual state primary.

Sometimes, they can be released. But, most commonly, they are committed to the candidate for one ballot. Sometimes, two ballots.

Go, Newt! Let's see that oily snake oil salesman try to wiggle out of it.

"Nothing to fear, so long as one stands in the shadow of the Cross."

I saw that interview. Newt touched me greatly with those words, and his reaction to them.

Here’s a statement from Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan:

“Governor Perry will strongly endorse and work for the Republican nominee, since our priority must be to replace President Obama and his destructive policies.

As a former U.S. military officer and a proud Aggie, Rick Perry puts a premium on loyalty and therefore today remains a Newt Gingrich backer.”

Someone said on here a few weeks ago that the nominee needs to win 5 states to get on the first ballot and if they don’t, their delegates are released to vote for whoever is on the ballot.

Perhaps now Newt will win those 5 states necessary to be on the first ballot. Maybe there will be a chance to play the steal-the-delegate game at that point.

Romney will not debate him. After his attacks that hurt Gingrich, debating Gingrich can only hurt him.

I think Romney was expecting Newt to drop first and then wrap it up. Newt has other plans.

I like that.

Newt’s going to be waiting a long time for that debate phone to ring.

He and Ron Paul should do their own. It was so stupid when both Rick and Ron Paul cancelled that February debate just because Romney did. Their campaigns only suffered since then. Both were too stupid to realize when you have a candidate with millions more dollars than you, you NEVER turn down FREE media exposure! At least Newt had that figured out all along. He and Ron Paul should agree to do some debates. Supposedly they and Rick had agreed to one in Texas. I realize Ron Paul may be secretly backing Romney of course.
