Trayvon Martin: Attorneys say Zimmerman contacted prosecutor, Sean Hannity
The Baltimore Sun / The Orlando Sentinel ^ | April 10, 2012 | Jeff Weiner and Hal Boedeker

The two men who have been George Zimmerman's most outspoken defenders, attorneys Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner, said today that they're off the case.

"On Sunday, we lost track of George, in that he would not return our calls," attorney Uhrig said. Said attorney Craig Sonner, "I've lost contact with him at this point."

The lawyers had been publicly representing Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, in the media as calls for his arrest continue to grow.

But they said Tuesday that Zimmerman — who, they say, has left the state — has stopped answering their phone calls, and has made a series of decisions that the two lawyers would not have advised.

The lawyers said Zimmerman called Sean Hannity of Fox News without consulting them. He also called the special prosecutor in the case, something the attorneys said they'd never have told him to do.

"We were a bit astonished," Uhrig said. He praised Special Prosecutor Angela Corey's office for declining to speak with Zimmerman without legal counsel.

Asked about Hannity's interactions with Zimmerman, a Fox News Channel spokeswoman said the issue "will be addressed on Hannity's show tonight." The show, "Hannity," airs at 9 p.m.

Uhrig added that he thinks Zimmerman is going through post-traumatic stress and is "largely alone...

A "flight risk" he says? How are you a flight risk if you're under no criminal charges whatsoever? Is this still the United States of America?

He really needs to listen to counsel.

Don’t push me, I’m thinking.

The pressure must be very intense on Zimmerman. Think I’d make a run for the border to Canada or Mexico. Do Americans ever sneak across the border into Mexico?

It has already been reported that he is a democrat. He is obviously, at the very least, naive.

Capt. Zimmerman needs to file suit against these lawyers for breaking attorney-client privilege. .

He has a contract out on him, I’d be a flight risk too.

Yes he needs to listen to counsel, how many people would handle this properly with the entire MSM gunning for you. Not to mention the black cats.

I agree but all the elements for a true post-traumatic stress reaction are present in this situation. Zim should be expected to be highly vigilant and on guard, and not unlikely to make poor decisions where his own safety is obviously a concern.

He got to the point where he doesn't trust anyone and I don't blame him.

You know darn well that blacks will assassinate him.

With all the death threats and hysteria... why is no one CONCERNED that he can’t be found and quitting his case instead of worrying something horrible has happened to him???

God, no kidding.

“Capt. Zimmerman needs to file suit against these lawyers for breaking attorney-client privilege.”

What privilege did they break? They said absolutely nothing about the case; they divulged nothing that Zimmerman had told them. They just said that under the circumstances they are no longer representing him.

Do Americans ever sneak across the border into Mexico?

Have you ever listened to Marty Robbins' "Meet me Tonight in Laredo"?

Meet me tonight in Laredo wait till the moon`s hanging low
Meet me tonight in Laredo we`ll soon be in old Mexico

It is a beautiful song

No website or anything else..

When the website came out yesterday I knew something was up - now I know - he cut himself off from counsel.

The attorneys cast Zim in a bad light. They should keep their traps shut. Like the attorney who interviewed GI Bales (the Rambo in Afghanistan who went on solo night raid) right after lawyer comes out of confidential interview he holds a press conference and says, “My client has no recollection or memory of that night”. Oh swell. Give the prosecution a huge advantage. Take away your cleint’s side of story if he ever regains his memory. Some things you shut up about. There is no tactical advantage. Just decision to feel important and play to cameras. The Judge Ito Subdrome. “Look at me, the cameras like me, they really like me.”

Isn’t he Peruvian on his mother’s side? Wouldn’t he be a citizen of Peru? What’s to stop him from leaving?

Perhaps George Zimmerman has already been cleared, and is getting the heck out of Dodge before the special prosecutor holds her press conference in three days. It’s a shame he has to hide, but I don’t blame him.

I agree with you that the comments were not wise, since — as you pointed out — what they did say did not help Zimmerman. Still, there was no violation of the attorney-client privilege as they said nothing about the case. They should simply have issued a release saying they were no longer representing Zimmerman and left it at that.

Yes, his mother is Peruvian and his father is Jewish.

He could go to Peru and fit right in without anyone noticing him!

Well his face is plaster everywhere...

Some guy jumps him beats the crap out of him and has to kill him

There a bounty and lynch mob out to kill him and the government does nothing..in fact seem to be encouraging it...

Zimmerman was a kind of mushy Obama supporting lib who now see himself portrayed as the grand dragon on the KKK....

I think the guy is a bit stressed and his world view crushed

Bottom line if one of the mob doesn't kill him he will end up killing himself

And the press and president will say nothing other then if he kill himself they will say in shows guilt...

and if Zimmerman is the kind of a mushy Obama supporting lib I think he might be...he will soon convince himself he is guilt because his hero's say so

This will end bad...and this is just the start of a lot of very bad ending in Obama's America...We will have Hardcore PC seen in most dictatorships...
