Would we ever hire radical leftists and commies to attack Obama from the left and say he’s too moderate? How could that possibly work into an election strategy where we’re trying to convince people Obama is a far-left extremist?

Are you really going to try and make a comparison between our side and our ethics and their side and their ethics?

They don't even have to hire somebody from a right-wing organization, they will be planting these stories all over the place and will destroy Romney with the truth about his record and it will be enough to convince enough voters that his numbers will go through the floor.

You’re not getting it, we’re not debating the ethics of this tactic, we’re debating the effectiveness. How does it help either send to have surrogates saying their candidate is too moderate when most likely the message they’re trying to get out is that their opponent is too extreme? That can’t work in today’s world when every ad will hit the internet and cable and won’t be limited to a specific region.
