Have you ever STARTED a thread? There is no provision to put anyone’s name in the little boxes other than your own. Using the original article title is strictly encouraged to make searches easier.. I didn’t write the title, I just followed the rules and pasted it in.
Bravo Sierra, obtuse one.
“Have you ever STARTED a thread? There is no provision to put anyones name in the little boxes other than your own.”
“You’ve posted a total of 80 threads and 13,252 replies.”
So, yes, I’ve started threads before—80 of them, apparently. I haven’t started one in a month or two, but I do recall a box where one can write the author’s name. You must have filled in the box with your own screen name (albeit in lower-case) instead of the author’s name, presumably out of inexperience. That’s understandable, as is your frustration at FReepers who kept accusing you of having prejudged George Zimmerman when all you did was post an article.
However, when multiple FReepers point out that the false accusations against you stem from you having indicated that you were the author, you should have typed “d’oh!” or “oops!” or “sorry about that” and asked the Admin Moderator to correct the author’s name on the thread, instead of insisting that there was no way in which the author’s name could be included (something that you should have known right away that couldn’t be true, given that I assume you had seen threads before and they usually include the name of the author of the article being posted, not just the name of the poster).
Making a mistake when posting an article for the first time is nothing about which to be embarrassed; sniping at people who pointed out your mistake, and insisting that everyone else is wrong and you are right, is something else altogether.
You have been here 9 years and couldn’t figure out that in the box that asks for “author,” you are actually supposed to put the name of the real author of the article?
