Here is a close, but not exact same case. In Iowa we don’t have ‘stand your ground’ or even ‘castle’, more like ‘scream and run’. I have heard a sheriff say the same thing the prosecutor said in the case - don’t be afraid of trials, the law worked. I guess they can discount the fact that the guy lost almost everything, spent time in jail, and did nothing wrong.
I remember when the elite all told Americans to do what the robbers or rapists said and don’t resist to stay alive. In other words, make the kill easy on the poor guy.
