Apr 11, 2012 Romney Wont Rule Out Romney-Santorum Ticket
WARWICK, R.I. For the second time in as many days, Mitt Romney was quizzed about his potential vice presidential pick during a town hall and declined to rule out a possible Romney-Santorum ticket.
Everybody is on my list, said Romney in answer to a voter who asked whether he would consider former presidential candidate Rick Santorum as his running mate. Everybody is on my list. Im not taking anybody off the list, alright?
But Romney quickly stopped himself backtracking to say that there actually isnt a list of potential vice presidential candidates. At least not yet.
I actually dont, I dont have a list, yet, said Romney. So I cant say someone is on or off my list. But I can tell you that the people who I had the privilege of running against would surely be among those I would consider, said Romney.
The criteria, I think, has to be, first and foremost, is this a person who could be president of the United States, if that were needed? And do people recognize that and see that as a person who has that kind of qualification and so he Ive said this before. If any of the people I ran against happened to become the nominee, I would have endorsed them and supported them for president.
So of course theyd be on that list and he, among others, Romney said of Santorum.

Rubio.
“kicked Romney in the teeth”....
~ ~ ~
How did Santorum do that, by not mentioning Romney’s
name? Rather decent of Santorum...
That would be better than nothing, but he’ll need Palin if he wants to win.

I'm surprised you would say this....
Serious evangelicals who support Santorum have every reason to believe he would not align himself with Romney......
...and their strong convictions would prevent them from embracing such a pairing.
We don't flip that easily.
Not content that Rick has dropped out....you're STILL making up scenarios you hope will hurt him.
I looked up your recent 'Romney to hit the trail with Santorum'.........
..and there is not anything....no Santorum quote....nothing....to support this.
This is purely pap on Romney's part, especially as he heads into the Pennsylvania primary.
The actual Romney speak was .....down the line he expects Santorum will be on the trail with him.
Well, I expect someday I will win a million dollars.
I often wonder how you sleep at night.....but have drawn the conclusion you are quite adept at word twisting and it doesn't bother you at all.
Go Romney-Lieberman!!!!
I was feeling ill, so I needed a thought to help empty my stomach...
How about this one... Obama drops Biden for Hillary... Romney-Biden 2012!!! major-purge, and that looks like a piece of my lung.
“On CNN Ticker, it shows Santorum to campaign with Mitt Romney. I guess he needs those debts paid off. Now, if this is true, why in the world would he kiss up to Mittens for after bashing Mitt throughout the primaries as being a faux conservative. Now, the light may shine.”
Santorum, sadly, can sometimes be an establismentarian first. Like when he supported Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey. As much as I like Santorum for the support he gave pro-lifers and Terri Schiavo’s parents, two of the big reasons I supported him this time around, his support for Specter still rubs me the wrong way and is a reminder that he isn’t perfect. So I’m guessing he will be a team player and support Romney.
“Santos not man enough to have stayed in the race until after PA primary.”
With his chances of taking the nomination increasingly slim, his daughter in the hospital facing a 10 percent survival rate, and Romney implementing his usual scorched earth policy against Christian and conservative challengers, I don’t blame Santorum for getting out now to focus on his family.
Which is why I thought it was a stupid statement...he’s telegraphing the obvious already?
Like that’s going to fool us again?
Picking Santorum is the only way Romney can add conservative excitement to the race, and the only way some conservatives will vote for him.
If Romney wants to win he needs to pick a conservative to balance his liberal tendencies. Santorum may be a social conservative, but he is a pro-union liberal when it comes to fiscal policies. Right now we need a pro-business conservative. Santorum does not fit.
