VDH sums it up nicely. The best thing that could ever happen to President Obama this year? Mitt Romney. The best thing that could happen to Mitt Romney this year? Barack Obama. Both of them are terrible candidates, and the election will literally be about who stinks less. It’s clear Obama is doing everything he can to cobble together the core Democrat constituencies. I don’t think they are all that enthusiastic about Barack this time. However, he might have an easier time rallying the left than Romney will have the right. We despise Romney.
This country seems headed for one of the most divisive elections in my lifetime. Frankly, I don’t have anything in common with today’s Democrats. They want to enslave me. I want to be free. How can one compromise on that?

Obama is a demagogue. H. L. Mencken, defined a demagogue as “one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.”
There's much truth in that sentiment.
