The Tea Party Is Not Over
American Spectator ^ | 4/12/2012 | R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

Posted on 04/12/2012 10:40:25 AM PDT by IbJensen

Don't write it off just yet, at it continues to add candidates to this year's mix.

WASHINGTON -- All is bleak. All is woe! I speak of the Tea Party movement, the movement of 2009 and 2010 that was the hot news story of those years, and led to the Republican rout of the Democrats in 2010. Now the Tea Party movement is according to reports in the media in decline.

Was it extremist? Was it racist? Distinguished Americans like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton said it was. Yet their evidence when it came under objective scrutiny kept falling apart, as so many of their hoaxes over the years have fallen apart: Ms. Tawana Brawley, the 1979-1980 Atlanta killings supposedly by local cops who spent their leisure hours in the Ku Klux Klan. I cannot think of another couple of hucksters who have adduced so much evidence of heinous behavior by the American majority only to have the evidence go poof! The Tea Party movement was neither extremist nor racist. In fact, it was what Americans look like when they suddenly become alive to politics: somewhat amateurish, terrifically enthusiastic, and eventually quite serious about practicing the political arts at the local level, in Madison, Wisconsin; in Waco, Texas; in Tucson, Arizona -- all locales far, far away from Washington, D.C. Though I have reason to suspect that the Tea Partiers may return to Washington, D.C. after the November elections. Read on.

The Washington Post related an interesting finding in another dolorous story with hints of an obituary about the Tea Partiers. According to a Washington Post/ABC News Poll, 44 percent of the American people supported the Tea Partiers, 43 percent opposed them. I saw polls like that going back to 2009.

America needs a party and a candidate that will hit the current illegal occupier of the White Hut over the head with the Constitution. We need one that will promise to take a large battle axe to the evil central socialist government, otherwise this nation will become known as the United States of Titanica!

Romney is indeed Obozo Lite!

They still dont understand what the Tea Party is all about! But other than spending our hard earned money, the Dim’s wouldnt understand the movement. Just wait for the election, and they will learn.

I may not vote for Romney in November. I may even write in Sarah Palin. But I will vote for every other republican on my ballot.

Tyrell is in damage control mode after trashing conservatives for not slurping the Romney kool-aid. He’s getting blow-back from subscribers and he’s trying to keep them active and avoid cancellations.

“Gee Tea-Party people, you’re just swell! Keep up the good fight now! We still love you here at the Spectator (vote Romney)!”

I haven’t decided on the used car salesman yet, but my congress critter gets no vote from me this time around. He’s an (R) and the biggest, most unreliable pig at the public feeding trough.

When he tried to argue with me that indeed the House republicans made obama and the democrats cut $38 million dollars from the budget when it was clearly around $5 million he lost my vote.

He’s a part of the problem with the (R’s) in congress.

Bump. Other than your use of the cacophemistic Left-wing malaprop, "blowback", which is appropriate in engineering and gunsmithing usage. "Blowback" was the Left hate-meme that anything bad that happens to America (9/11, the Khobar Towers, Beirut) is America's own damn hateful fault.

Willard's magic-underpants-protected family jewels would get sucked back up into his gut, and National Review wouldn't be able to marvel at them any more.

The Tea Party is alive & well out here in Ventura County, CA! Our leader got elected to the City Council in Ventura & is working hard to exposing and putting a stop to the UN Agenda 21 shenanigans.

I won't vote for Romney if he's on the ballot, but I will vote for other Republicans IF they are Conservatives.

Romney, both of the Bushes, Dole, and McCain, have proven that party labels mean nothing - the GOP has pushed Big Government RINOs on us going back to 1988, and I'm not bending over for them anymore. What have we gotten out of the last 24 years of Big Government RINOs? The Bushes expanded the size/cost of the government, and George W. Bush gave us the biggest, most expensive, most powerful and most intrusive government in the history of our nation, at least until Obama came along, and Dole and McCain (along with the Bushes) gave us Clinton and Obama.

The party doesn't care about me, so I see no reason to care about it. They want my vote, they better support Conservatives. I've bent over for them too many decades, and I'm done, because liberal Republicans are pushing us down the road to socialism just as surely as Democrats.
