Full headline: Update: Trayvon Martin's mom retracts 'accident' characterization, says Zimmerman killed him in 'cold blood'

Updated at 1:15 p.m. ET: Trayvon Martin's mother retracted her comments that she believes her son's fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident, telling MSNBC-TV on Thursday afternoon that she actually believes "George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood."

In an interview Thursday morning on NBC's TODAY show, Sybrina Fulton had said: "I believe it was an accident. I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn't turn the clock back."

After Fulton's remarks drew widespread media attention, Ryan Julison, a spokesman for the Martin family, emailed a statement to MSNBC TV saying her comments had been "mischaracterized."

SNIP

Here's the full statement:

Earlier today, I made a comment to the media that was later mischaracterized. When I referenced the word 'accident' today with regard to Trayvon's death, in NO way did I mean the shooting was an accident.

We believe that George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood. The 'accident' I was referring to was the fact that George Zimmerman and my son ever crossed paths. It was an accidental encounter. If George Zimmerman hadn't gotten out of his vehicle, this entire incident would have been avoided.

My son was profiled, followed and murdered by George Zimmerman, and there was nothing accidental about that.

I think the woman is carrying an incredible load of guilt for insisting Trayvon stay with his father and his fiance.

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way but doesn’t this entire event has a “Bonfire of the Vanities” feel to it?

I cannot remember the name of the officer off the top of my head, but he was mudered in St.Pete,Fl. last year by a black kid. The officer was white.

The boy’s family said “Oh,it was an accident! He was scared! He didn’t know what to do!”

Give me a f**king break! The teenager knew full well what he was doing.

Now if the roles were reversed and it was a white kid who shot a black cop all hell would break loose and the entire city of St.Petersburg would have been turned upside-down.

Obama’s campaign probably instigated the local “civil rights” leaders to get Trayvon’s mom back “on message”. Obama has a lot invested in fanning this racial tension.

Of course. George Zimmerman may end up serving a prison sentence, even though an eyewitness saw Trayvon on top of him pummeling him before the shot was fired, in order to uphold a fiction.

This case is about the national media and liberals protecting the black community from having to acknowledge the dysfunction and failure among a large percentage of black families.

The specific fiction in the Zimmerman case is that it is NOT possible that Trayvon swing at Zimmerman first and then jumped on him and beat him. That possibility CANNOT be acknowledged out loud.

If that possibility is even allowed to be considered, then that opens up the question of whether Zimmerman really was defending himself.

And if Zimmerman really was defending himself, then this was just another one of a million instances of a young black man perpetrating violence.

As far as the MSM and the political elite are concerned, the public must NOT learn about Trayvon the No_Limit_N*gga with his gold teeth and tattoos and vile and violent tweetings and drugs and school suspension and so on.

None of that is relevant to the case, the MSM and the elite claim.

Nor is it relevant that 80+% of underclass blacks are born out of wedlock to mothers who are turned into basically government employees whose job it is to get pregnant by random men and raise their children on other people's money, with a large percentage of such children never being socialized into society.

That fact is not relevant, they say, to criminality and unemployability and hatred and bitterness and government dependency.

The source of these problems is always "racism," they say.

The ugly truth is that the source of these problems are moral failure and generations of liberal policies. If the American people at large ever came to understand this, then the consequences for the liberal elites and the future of the progressive movement would become rather bleak.

Well I’m glad that there are others out there who agree with me! I sensed it from the very beginning that it was a big pile of crap, to put it bluntly. The blame for the loss of Trayvon Martin’s I place on two sources: His parents and the “Gangsta” mindset that seems to plague many young black men in America.

Here’s one question the defense should bring up at the trial: If Trayvon was so paranoid about this guy following (”Stalking”(?)) him why didn’t he use his cell phone and call his Dad to come to his aid? Probably Dad was too busy getting “some” to be concerned about his Kid.

I think the trial is going to bring alot out about this whole event, more than likely not to the prosecutions liking.
