I saw it maybe 50 years ago but I still remember being surprised that a comedy would still make an effort to be historically accurate.

Buster Keaton during the 1920s was a genius. While The General is his best known work all his other stuff from the silent era is worth watching. Chaplin was of course the biggest star but for me I prefer Keaton.
