The Arizona Senate has approved a bill that would make the Bible and its role in Western culture the subject of an elective high school course.

Yes - I see no problem with an elective course on the Bible.

No - there is potential for violating the separation of church and state.

Of all the books ever written, the Bible is the most widely reproduced by a huge margin - it's not some cult manusript, as the left would have one think.

And the best part of this legislation is to watch the Libtards heads explode - thank you Arizona.

the Bible and its role in Western culture the subject of an elective high school course.

The Bible is one of the most influential books in the history of man. You don't have to be religious to understand the major role it has had in the shaping of our culture whether it is the political system, music, literature, history, etc.

They will make those demands regardless of what we do. At least this way the little skulls full of mush are exposed to our actual history.

It should be a required course, for the simple reason that as literature alone, it’s the single most influential book in the history of our culture. Even if you’re an atheist, you should have knowledge of the Bible. It’s the biggest influence on many of our laws, cultural concepts, and expressions. High schools require some Shakespeare, and even the Bard wasn’t as influential as the Bible.

“I really wish Jefferson had kept his mouth shut when he wrote that phrase.”

It is a very good and appropriate phrase when taken in the context in which, and the purpose for which it was first used, to assure the Danbury Baptists that the government of the new nation than a-borning would not interfere with the practice of religion among the people.
However, sadly, it suited the purposes of the Anti-
Chrisitan Litigants’ Union to have “separation of church and state” interpreted to require banning from the public square religious influences or impulses, especially those of a Christian nature. Thats part of the price exacted for the crime of opposing abortion.

Adding the Bible as quaint literature to the government school is not going to fix the school.

The cults will want to have their religious books reckoned as well, and the original purpose will have been defeated.

The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program in the country.

The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is better understood as the “government school collective”.

It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is communist.

Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.

If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.

Nobody loves your children more than you do.

Nobody can teach your children like you can.

Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.

It is hypocritical for you to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. And your children will know it.

If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.

DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!

Especially not with your own children.

And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!

He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that goes DOUBLE for any government “education” program.
