WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama has ramped up U.S. aid, including communications equipment and medical supplies, to Syria's opposition in hopes of accelerating the downfall of President Bashar Assad, officials said Friday.
The president signed off on the package last week, U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.

The conflict is between the Iranian-supported Shiite regime versus Sunni rebels. The Shiites know they will be killed if the Sunnis gain power, so they will fight hard. This is something we should stay out of.
That Obama is such a good palestinian,

I can think of very few ideas dumber than choosing sides in a centuries-old Islamic ethnic and religious war.
