If we want conservatives to win primaries, we have to run a conservative...A conservative...singular. Watching a bunch of conservatives cannibalize our vote and then blaming the GOP-e because they backed a chameleon/opportunist like Romney is a losing proposition.
I have no love lost for the GOP. I backed Cain, backed Newt, and wished Palin would’ve gotten in. Unless something substantial happens at the Convention, we need to own our own mess (the conservative mess). We man/woman up and vote for Romney and figure out how to undermine stalking horses for the Romney/McCains and get a pre-convention convention to select OUR conservative and roll with her (Palin) or him.
We’re in this situation with Romney because we gave away the primary and failed to coordinate going into the game.
I think Newt was saying... “and romney is a little prick... just about this big”.

Advise you check Romney’s record on appointing judges.
In a word... NO! Remember.... John McCain calls people like me "hobbits" and romney sees people like me the same way. I am a Christian conservative. I cling to my God, my bible, my wife, family and guns. I'm not good enough to vote for romney or his kind but.... I am open to be convinced. If you can tell me the difference between obomba and romney you may get me to vote for him.
I'll be waiting for your comparisons. ;-)
I am sorry I excerpted your comments for brevity. I support your sentiments 100%, Ken. The Supreme Court will be totally lost in a second 0bama term.
Now that took me from being pi$$ed off to laughing my arse off!

Dude, really?
You really believe that there is some *EVIL* cabal, plotting in some smokey back room, to foist some unspeakable evil upon the world?!?
Seriously?
The reality is that the only people that are to blame for Romney taking the primary *ARE THE PRIMARY VOTERS THEMSELVES*!!!
After all, no one put a gun to your head at the primary voting booth. And no one did to anyone else. Each and every voter made their choice of their own free will.
And the largest voting block was Romney.
That’s it, end of story.
It’s too bad that we had 5-6 different flavors of conservative candidate that the GOP electorate would gell around. Instead, our electorate flitted from candidate to candidate looking for the anointed one... never once looking back at any of them for a second glance.
Exaggerating? Then I guess you're calling Jim Rob and every honest conservative on this forum a liar. You're also calling Romney's actual record a lie.
Mitt Romneys Dismal Record
"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

LOL! This thread is finally going in a productive direction! ;)
Newt to Tampa!
Romney to Golub!
You might want to do the side by side comparison between Romney’s record and the GOP platform before further embarrassing yourself. Also, I know Windy. I served the PDS wars with windy. And Windy’s no Obama supporter ;)
If you vote Romney it’s a vote against conservatism.
Look at what four more years of Obama will bring, and also Romney is a capitalist.
“In case you missed the memo - Free Republic is a CONSERVATIVE site, not necessarily a Republican one. The GOP has proven they are no longer conservative for pushing Romney.”
True enough. I was talking to someone earlier who suggested that *WE* are really the RINOs in the Republican party, since it’s obvious that the majority of Republicans prefer Romney.
If its Newt Vs. Romney Newt will start getting more delegates. I wonder, what happens to Santorum’s delegates now that he dropped out? Im not familiar with the process but can he give them to Newt if he chooses to?
Excellent! WAR ON THE FLOOR!
We need banners saying that... carry them in front of the fox news booth at the convention.

Romney is our only choice.
:-)
Wow! My first screen high five!
I have arrived!
(your hands aren’t really that small, are they?) ;)
“If Obama wins, there will be NO Conservatism because he WILL turn America into a Banana Republic...”
If Obama gets another term, I will still be a Conservative.
Won’t you?
