Up to a dozen Secret Service agents in Colombia for President Barack Obama’s trip there have been relieved of their duties amid allegations of misconduct.
The Secret Service did not detail the accusations but said they did not affect security for the president, who landed in the country Friday for a weekend at the Summit of the Americas.
The Associated Press reported that the allegations involved prostitutes. The actions happened before the president’s arrival on Friday, the AP reported, citing unnamed sources.
“There have been allegations of misconduct made against Secret Service personnel in Cartagena, Colombia prior to the President’s trip. Because of this, those personnel are being relieved of their assignments, returned to their place of duty, and are being replaced by other Secret Service personnel,” the Secret Service said in the statement.
“The Secret Service takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. This entire matter has been turned over to our Office of Professional Responsibility, which serves as the agency’s internal affairs component,” the agency said. “These personnel changes will not affect the comprehensive security plan that has been prepared in advance of the President’s trip.”

The Secret Service, like the FBi used to be an admirable organization.
Now just more excessive, often politically motivated, government dead weight, taking up space, and soaking up taxpayer money, until their pensions kick in.
I’d bet the SS could be cut by 50% without affecting essential security issues.

Everything else about this administration is unprofessional. I don’t see why the SS should be an exception.
Remember shortly after 9/11? A Secret Service agent, who had joined the force during the time of the Clinton era when no one was being security-checked or even drug tested (because nobody would have passed), was confronted trying to fly private airline to Texas White House where Bush was vacationing.
He had a loaded service sidearm and a book about Islam in his possession. His "papers were not in order" as they say. He disappeared down the memory hole and we never heard another word about him, or what the hell was going on.
Not from The Bush admin, not from Rush, not from any of the bloggers, nobody. The event never happened and the agent never existed. To this day.

It was not only Secret Service, but also some Army Special Forces guys.
They didn't pay some of the hookers.
At the hotel, they had to sign the girls in, so all the guys, by name are linked to the hookers.

Why would SS agents who are the creme de la creme risk everything for some prostitutes? One or two maybe in a compromising position, but 12?
It sounds like they needed to be rotated out fast and made examples of, or tarred and feathered, for some reason.
SS agents are far too professional and dedicated to risk their careers for something of little value.
I think they saw something or found out something they should not have and maybe were going to do a little whistleblowing, and we can’t have that now, can we?

Cartagena, and Colombia in general, are dangerous places.
This is an embarrassment not only to the Obama administration but also to the United States.
We’re talking about a third world country and the bodyguards of the President taking advantage of their poverty.
By the way, this is one big reason why democrats support policies that increase poverty in the US and lowering the age of consent. Sorry but it’s true. They want to have power over them.
