Severe Storms in Wichita. Large Tornado moving into Southwest part of city. Haysville, Derby, Wichita especially in the crosshairs. We're hunkered down here and prepared. It looks like it might miss us, but there are more storms expected tonight. Looks like a long evening. Stay Safe!
I’ve been watching the Weather Channel - Looks scary in the middle of the country.
Prayers for all.
>I’m listening to “Wichita Metro Area Sheriff, Fire, EMS, and HWP” using the Scanner Radio app<
Sounds scary out there. From South MS, stay safe!
Weather Channel saying damage reports coming in from South Metro Witchita, Witchita Airport, and McConnel AFB.
I know the 'being in the crosshairs' feeling.
Hard to sleep.
Everyone stay vigilant. Might be a time for our bread-basket FReepers to forgo a few hours of sleep.

Gosh, these babies are moving fast up here.
Just had a pretty intense cell pass just a couple miles to the west while another cell was moving past just a couple miles to the east. Went right around us on both sides.
Near Woodward, OK as well. OKC Channel 9 live coverage just talking about apartment complex that’s been hit/destroyed, theater hit as well, natural gas smell.

I’d been back on earlier, but the power was out for several hours. I’m in Haysville. It missed us by about 2 miles. We aren’t far from Oaklawn which seems to have got the worst of it. A close call for us. Prayers to all affected.

Looks like the Creston, Iowa hospital was hit tonight.
CRESTON, Iowa - A possible tornado damaged a hospital in Creston on Saturday night.
Authorities with the Creston Police Department said the damage was reported at the Greater Regional Medical Center about 7:30 p.m.
The extent of the damage is not yet known, but a nursing home near the hospital also sustained damage.
Creston Mayor Warren Woods said power lines are down all over Creston, and much of the city is without electricity.
At Southwest Community College, roof damage was found on dormitories, and there were other reports of damage there.
Police said there were reports of injuries.
If the general direction of the storm holds and it holds together, it looks like it’s headed just north of the storm that just hit Wichita.
Woodward, Oklahoma HIT HARD.
Multiple reports that Tornado sirens DID NOT go off.
At night, that could be very, very bad.
FROM AWF:

New Tornado Warning, ppassing just north of Manhatten, KS.
Isn’t North of Mahatten Fort Riley?
Yes that area is Fort Riley. Storm radio now reports tornado warning in Pottawatomie County KS
Prayers up for everyone in the paths of these storms.
Grapefruit sized hail right now north of Manhattan KS
That is hard to imagine coming out of the sky.
Been following The Weather Channel all night.
The updrafts and inflow circulations have to be tremendous to produce that size hail.
Right now I’m watching local coverage and the weatherman on WIBW Topeka reported that. I can’t even imagine the damage that would do. The old Tornado Watch was to expire in about 30 minutes but has been extended.
I've seen it. Goes right through some roofs.
Thank you. Tomorrow morning early will still be bad from what I’m hearing.
I’ve seen ping pong ball size and that was bad enough on cars and windows, just can’t imagine grapefruit size.
