I’ve been telling Republican conservatives that their party was almost completely bereft of of principled leaders for several years.
I try to be patient with those who just can’t see it, I really do.
But if folks can’t see it now, they’re willfully blind.

You are responsible - you allowed yourself to be deceived by lies. Every attack against NEWT is/was brought on by the lying spirit - the same spirit that is within mitt and barry. Don’t EVER point the finger at another!

Not surprised but when did that happen? He was another one like MB who didn't touch mitt during the debates. He was an easy target because he is/was politically hungry. Those are the types that are useable for Mitt and his agenda.
I asked because earlier he endorsed Newt and I was surprised because of his lack of action during the debates showed he was in Mitt's pocket. I'll never forgive him for what he did to Perry - accused his campaign - of the smear job when Cain first scandal came to light. I couldn't believe it - that's Mitt's mo - but working for Mitt - he had to attack Perry according to script. Everyone was saying it was the media because that when Cain's number was high (too high for Mitt's liking). I laughed at that - they refused to believe he was in Mitt's pocket and the media had nothing to do with it - it was mitt but Perry got the blame.
I guess bachmann is a rino too now.
Just like everyone else who will endorse her that we’ve declared conservatives in the past. If newt endorses romney I see a lot of people’s heads here exploding.

My understanding was that the polling was saying that if Gingrich had left the race his supporters would not necessarily have gone to Santorum, and vice versa. So Gingrich’s strategy was to stay in the race to keep Romney from getting enough delegates to win in the first round of voting and force a brokered convention.
And I think that’s still the only strategy we have left available to us - and that it could be effective in getting Romney out. Especially if the GOPe is forced to obey the law regarding proportionate delegates and is kept from pulling the kind of shenanigans they did in Iowa, Maine, and Missouri.
At this point we can’t afford to be sniping at our allies, because we are engaged in a life-and-death war. Friendly fire is not an option, and surrender is not an option.

Actually they are the only two. The others sold out BEfORE the debates to help mitt in the debates. If MB used her wrath that she used against Perry on mitt, he'd be out. She NEVER attack Mitt.
Newt has already said he would work and support Myth if he were the nominee.
BUT...he hasn't thrown in the towel yet.
No doubt I am a cynic..but the world of politics isn't particularly principled in the long run.
Which is why I don’t see the point of people arguing for any one politician to the point we start treating each other the way the liberals do. Especially when the people we are getting all torqued up about will go and support the other guy that if us little peons would say we’d support, it’s okay for them to, but average citizens are traitors. And I am saying this not as a Romney guy. I just don’t like hypocrisy on anything. Double and triple hypocrisy being that much worse.

If she does, you’re right, it’s going to get world class interesting real fast. I supported Palin for 4 years and admired her long before that. I’m interested to see if she will endorse him. I think there is a good chance she won’t.
If the Gingrich supporters really wanted to force a brokered convention, they would have gotten behind Santorum.
Simple as that. Their strategy here was to take up as many conservatives as they could and prevent them from consolidating to a candidate that could defeat Romney, and throw critical states to Romney.
And that’s exactly what they accomplished.
Newt has only defeated Romney in 2 states, GA and SC, that’s it. States that he might have a chance on the ballot are AR, TX, KY, WV, and NC. That’s 5 states. Even if he wins all the delegates in all 5 states, that still doesn’t get the combined total of Gingrich/Santorum/Paul to stop Romney.
And it’s a big if that he will top Romney in any of those 5 states, given his showing elsewhere.
Enjoy 4 more years of Obama.

There are people who just don’t like Santorum.
There are people who just don’t like Newt.
Partly because of the cult of personalities. Partly because of bad blood between the supporters of each guy. Partly because of the personal histories/stands of each candidate.
If any of those things weighs more than principle in the minds of voters, we’ll be stuck with Romney. Because of the priorities of the voters.
