RALEIGH, N.C. — The executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party resigned Sunday amid increasing frustrations and ire among party activists over high turnover at the party headquarters and harassment allegations there.
Jay Parmley, who became the top administrator last year after holding a similar post in South Carolina, submitted a resignation letter in which he vehemently denied harassing any party worker.
Party leaders raised concerns after e-mails circulating within the media late last week mentioned the allegations.
"Let me be clear: I have never harassed any employee at any time at the (state party) or in any other job," Parmley wrote in the letter obtained by The Associated Press. Parmley added that the more than 1,000 people who have worked with him "know this kind of behavior would be unconscionable to me."

Off topic, but what is it is with Democrats and the verbal tic “Let me be clear!” As soon as they say that, you KNOW they are lying.

Jay Parmley, who served a year at the helm of the party, denied harassing any employee and blamed right-wing blogs for “spreading a false and misleading story” about the incident.
“Even though I have not done anything wrong, it is clear to me that I need to move on,” Parmley wrote in his resignation letter.
“By the time the Dem. National Convention gets here, we might not have any high level Democrats here to welcome all the freaks to Charlotte.”
Crap floats...some will rise to the top to present themselves to the pests and parasites coming to the convention.
Old trick to get rid of someone not liked in an organization, accuse them of harassment. Does not matter if it is a Dim or anyone else, this kind of stuff is out of bounds and should not be cheered on here.
It is the same as some teenager accusing an adult of something just to get at them. Very dangerous territory to be cheering this on just because you don’t like someone’s politics.
