While I was observing, then, a male goat was coming from the west over the surface of the whole earth without touching the ground; and the goat had a conspicuous horn between his eyes. He came up to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing in front of the canal, and rushed at him in his mighty wrath. I saw him come beside the ram, and he was enraged at him; and he struck the ram and shattered his two horns, and the ram had no strength to withstand him. So he hurled him to the ground and trampled on him, and there was none to rescue the ram from his power.
Daniel 8:5-7 700BC
The only power on earth to this very day able to cross the earth without touching the ground and smacking Persia and trampling it to the ground is us.
Terrible thing, though. Daniel goes on to say:
“Then the male goat magnified himself exceedingly. But as soon as he was mighty, the large horn was broken; and in its place there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.”
Daniel 8:8
Daniel 8:8. This he-goat was Alexander the Great. Who in 323 B.C. at about thirty-three years of age, and at the height of his power, died. His empire was divided to these four Generals, of which Cassander had Macedonia, Seleucus had Syria, Antigonus had Asia the less, and Ptolemeus had Egypt.
I believe the ram to have been Alexander the Great when he defeated the Persians. Its not clear what the offshoot horns are supposed to represent. There’s theories that and I tend to believe them, that while Satan doesn’t know the day of the Messiahs return, he has had throughout the ages people ready to step up and play out the end-times. We’re definitely ripe for the end-times now but we can never truly know till it happens.
The angel saying that the prophecy is of the last days, and the male goat coming from the west over the surface of the whole earth without touching the ground has always intrigued me. Will we see the breakup of the US into four parts and out of one of these will come the world dictator? Only G_d knows.
