You can still do ok at a sushi place without worrying about raw fish. In addition to the veg-only ones (i.e. cucumber roll), there are at least half a dozen types of sushi that are cooked: shrimp roll, shrimp tempura roll, spider roll (deep fried crab), good old California roll, salmon skin roll (it’s from cooked salmon), and the one they make from eel. Plus, at some of the more Americanized ones, they’ll batter and deep fry the whole roll.
Cool! When I see the sushi joints in the movies, everyone is eating raw fish.
