(CNSNews.com) The president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence accused National Rifle Association President Wayne LaPierre of being responsible for the Trayvon Martin shooting in Florida by putting the gun in George Zimmermans hands.
During a rally on Capitol Hill marking the five-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre in which 32 people were killed and the eight-year anniversary on Friday of the Columbine High School shooting, Brady Campaign president Dan Gross called on Congress to take simple action to stop arming dangerous people. Also, on hand at the rally were victims of gun violence and their families.
Wayne LaPierre at the NRA Convention, in his feeble attempt to deflect the well-deserved blame for putting the gun in George Zimmermans hands, had the gall to complain about all the media attention on the Trayvon Martin tragedy. He asked, What about the tragedies that occur every day in our nation? Gross said.
Well, Wayne. Here they are 32 of them and they blame you and the politicians who do your bidding every bit as much as the media does. The fact is not just the Trayvon Martin tragedy but most of the gun violence in our nation could be prevented if Congress would take simple action to stop arming dangerous people, he added.

Who put the “pummeling the sh1t out of you” in Trayvon’s hands?
” I keep the sticker on my car, because it pisses off the liberals up here in Massachusetts.”
The temptation to tweak liberals in Massachuetts is almost irresistable : )
Hehe, not “almost”...:)
Many Freepers think that living in Massachusetts automatically makes someone a liberal, but there are more up here than you would think. We DO have a special handshake, though.
As for pissing them off, think of it as a “target-rich” environment, figuratively speaking...:)
When I was at Boston College (1972-1976), I used to enjoy getting them so angry that they wood stutter.....even drool!
OK.....I was good at it. Harvard Square was my favorite spot to do it.
: )
Oh, God. Not Harvard Square...I go in there on occasion, but the moon-battery is just too much since 2000.
They say it like it's a BAD thing.
People in Harvard Square are still trying to impeach Nixon
posthumously : )
And I accuse the "Brady Campaign" of being responsible for the 23 murders by George Hennard at the Kileen, TX, Luby's by keeping the guns out of the hands of people who would otherwise been able to stop his murderous rampage.
It's amazing how the anti-gun leftist cry about how the most draconian gun laws would be justified "if it could save just one life," yet they don't give a damn about how many lives are provably saved every year by armed civilians.
Gun control is not about safety (with the possible exception of keeping the violent criminal safe), but about increasing the control of the government over the governed.

Melanie Hunter a ‘guy?’
I didn’t see who wrote the article. That’s even worse.
