Bob Beckel didn’t realize when the commercial break ended during tonight’s final segment of Hannity, caught in a heated off-camera argument with fellow panelist Jennifer Stefano. Off-air debates, we learned, are granted a much more colorful range of vocabulary than on-air debates, and as the cameras started rolling, the first words on national television were, “You don’t know what the f*** you’re talking about.”
In a blooper that is as hilarious as it increasingly becomes painful, it slowly dawns on Beckel what actually happened, as Hannity insists he apologize and Beckel, after saying he won’t several times, finally realizes the cameras are actually rolling. When he finally figured it out, he told Hannity to “run your show better,” then covered his head in shame and refused to speak, other than to say “I’m going to be fired.”
Hannity explained the situation– the two were in a heated debate while he and Tea Party activist Neal Boortz played catch with the famed Hannity show football. Beckel didn’t look over at the producer giving a five-second warning and inadvertently went off on-screen. When he finally realized what happened, Beckel was beyond contrite, instead saying he was going to get fired and refusing to speak for the rest of the segment. Both Stefano and Boortz tried to comfort him– Stefano trying to continue the policy debate but noting that she took exception with the “personal” nature of debate sometimes, Boortz adding, “if they try to fire you, we’ll defend you.”
The perils of live TV: you can say something so inappropriate and refuse to believe you did for so long, that the unbelievable moment in which you realize what happened makes everyone come out looking more endearing.

Until this kerfuffle, I had never heard of Bob Beckel. But he certainly is one handsome hunka man, no question. From his career summary on Wikipedia:

FoxNews is running their network the way Romney would run the government if elected. Bring in the liberals and let them set the tone and the agenda. Bush did not keep his promise to govern as a conservative; that would tell us what’s to come. I don’t watch Fox hardly at all since the FL primary. ( I recall when he got busted-she looks like she could be his daughter-sicko and they praise him on Hannity and the 5) Fox lowered the standard allowing him on. They should hear from the viewers about this latest incident. Morals, values are being written away.

Boortz said that Stefano was being a real jerk toward Beckel the entire show - especially during the commercial breaks when Hannity and Boortz were relaxing and tossing a football - and that Beckel finally blew his stack when she launched into another random rant at Beckel during a break. Boortz said that none of the three panelists realized that they were back "live" when Beckel snapped back at her. Fair's fair, and that is Neal's account.

the fact that hannity said things get heated during break is more reason hannity should have a better warning system for guests. That said, there is no reason whatsoever that a commie beckel type should say what he said off air or on air. Fire the commie now.
Agreed, Beckel is a total jerk with zero class. That’s why FoxNews will keep him right where they want him as they know that liberals must be cringing at his beefy unpleasant persona on the air.
Juan Williams is a gentleman in comparison and shows that one can disagree without being disagreeable.
Watch for Beckel to blame the “vast rightwing conspiracy” for his on-air indiscretion. Never mind he hurls the F-bomb at everybody when he thinks he’s off camera. Probably uses it when ordering from the menu in restaurants.

Both Sean Hannity and Mark Levin have said many times what a good friend Bob Beckel is. I like both Sean and Mark and can’t for the life of me understand what possible redeeming qualities they see in the man.
The only thing that I see what I look at Beckel is the $300 personal check that he wrote to a hooker that he found on the internet.
Beckel is a foul individual with a foul mouth. That word came out of his mouth because it is part of his daily vernacular. I have a zero tolerance for cussing, especially in a public setting.
All I’m telling you is what Neal Boortz said, and he was one of the three people on the show with Hannity. Neal said that Beckel was civil to Stefano, but that she was a total jerk toward Beckel and hounded him the entire time, especially during breaks. For the record, Boortz agrees with Stefano on the issues, but was disgusted by her rudeness toward Beckel. Sounds like a familiar case of the girl thinking she needs to “bully” the boys in order to be taken seriously.
oh, and Sean...take that football and stuff it.
I am not cutting Beckel any slack on this one.
Listen, his job is to get in the trenches on political topics—it is his profession.
I could see if it was you or me—we don’t do this every day for a living—but he does.
So what if Stefano got under his skin—like that has never happened to Beckel before on a show?

If you want to hang Beckel, go ahead. I would probably agree with you if I hadn't heard Bootz's first hand account this morning. But I'll defer to Neal on this one.

It was uncalled for, unprofessional, and Boortz, in my opinion, needs to call a spade a spade, not make excuses for boorish behavior.

My rule of thumb is not to curse when in a broadcast studio. Just to be safe.

Eric Bolling saved Beckel’s life recently with the Heimlich maneuver at a restaurant. You would think Beckel would have a renewed appreciation of life and the people around him.
I still find Bill Press and Alan Colmes the more despicable. Beckel’s saving graces are occasional flashes of humor and self-deprecation as well as periodic recognition of how liberalism has destroyed society ( Black families ).
He also believes in ghosts. Me too.

This was not on the late night broadcast. The commercial break came immediately after Boortz said his piece about poverty. When the program resumed, they were already arguing about Beckel’s statement.

Consider yourself lucky. He's a genuine slime ball. Self-admitted alcoholic and coke head. Back in 2002, he was paying a hooker/masseuse $300 an hour for sex at his house. His secret came out when the woman tried to extort $50,000 from him to keep her mouth shut. Why Fox News continues to pay him to be a political analyst is beyond me. It's one of the reasons that I stopped watching the channel.
