Newt Gingrich rents donor list to raise cash
Politico ^ | 4/13/2012 | KENNETH P. VOGEL and GINGER GIBSON

R.C. Hammond, a spokesman for the Gingrich campaign...brushed off a question about whether renting the list diluted its value or signaled an end to the campaign.

“No, it demonstrates the campaign is pursuing new sources of revenue,” he said. Gingrich has loaned the campaign “thousands, primarily toward travel and lodging expenses,” Hammond said, but he added “the campaign intends to reimburse” the loans.

Here is what Callista couldn’t do without. It is all about her.

Maybe she could ask Newt to suit up, be Ellis, and save. LOL

This is another way to say “I’m broke and in debt way past my eyeballs.”

Gingrich will “stay in” until Romney and the RNC pay his millions of dollars in campaign debt.

What ever happened to conducting oneself in an honorable manner? Yeah, I know it’s politics but still, this stinks.

When Newt said he could be "very, very enthusiastic" about Romney is when my alarm bells went off. It seems pretty obvious that he's just milking the exit for a better cushion on the way out.

For crying out loud, sam_paine, are you're so blinded by your hate for Newt Gingrich, you can't even be honest? It's always HONEST to complete the quote and provide a link or at least say, you're paraphrasing!! You omitted IF , which is the essence of the quote and should have quelled your alarm bells.

Hope they're not in your head and that you're not hearing other voices too. LOL.

Newt has said from the very beginning, that he would stay in this race all the way to the convention. DUH.

Gingrich would likely say no to Romney job offer

DOVER, Del. - Newt Gingrich said on Thursday he would "probably not" accept a Cabinet position under a Mitt Romney administration but would be happy to advise the former Massachusetts governor on policy.

Asked the question in an interview with local radio station WILM at the Hollywood Diner, Gingrich, one of three contenders left in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, said he wouldn't be interested in joining likely nominee Romney's Cabinet, but added--"not because I am opposed to Mitt."

"Look, if the choice does end up being Romney versus [President] Obama, I can be very, very enthusiastic for Romney; that is a huge choice," the former House speaker said.

The trouble always begins in that purple caucus state of Iowa. Open to both democrats and Republicans with same day, at the door registration and those pastors endorsing a preacher-like candidate instead of POTUS material. I cite Huckabee in ‘08, Santorum this year, and Romney had the money and organization. That SUX.

Be well!

I am praying, praying for everyone here and praying for Divine Intervention!

For crying out loud Onyx, are you so blinded by your own agenda you can't even be honest?

If Willard is "no different than Obama" then, as JimRob says, "NO WAY NO HOW NEVER" Romney. There is no way Newt should ever be able to support Romney in that case.

"If" Newt can support Romney "If" Romney is the nominee after the convention, then Newt obviously doesn't have a PRINCIPLED objection to Romney the way JimRob and others have.

And "IF" Newt is merely hanging on to pay off debts telegraphing that he's about to give up anyway, then it's even worse.

It’s 2012. Do you have a cell phone yet, or you still hanging on to your roatary phone?! LOL.

Do you understand that VETTED phone lists are what’s being sold?

These lists are split up for limited phone bank callers to chase. You can’t waste time for people in India trying to look up someone’s name.

Oh, well, of course you could, but for a few thousand bucks from campaign donations you can get it done faster.

I am honest. Newt is honest. Jim is honest.

Newt, along with all the candidates, pledged they would support the eventual nominee, (save for Ron Paul, who's been iffy), because they all said that ousting obama was of their utmost importance, so stop trying to impune their integrity.

I will not vote for Romney, but I am certain others here will. I'm not stupid to believe otherwise and I'm sure you know others will too, but there will be no campaigning for Romney here. Of that I'm certain. Mark Jim's words on that.

Posting FReepmail is a HUGE no-no.

If there was something to say, it should be posted on the board but not a private FReepmail. It's called "private" for a reason.

Well, people have posted mine and others plenty of times before. If the sysops can read them, they are not private anyhow.

Okee fine. I'm fully aware of that. And if (ahem, when) Newt (and Sarah) throw their support behind Romney then I'm sure op-eds penned by these current honest darlings (Newt, Sarah, etc) will be banned from FR just like Rove etal.

That's certainly a meme, but it's not very internally consistent. Kaslin will soon be banned from posting Rush Limbaugh transcripts. etc.

It’s true whether you believe Politico or not. He rented names, email addresses, personal information on staff, and since he was given Cain’s donors, anyone who donated to Cain, your information has similarly been given.

Because I was a staffer, they have everything of mine: bank account info, social security number, etc.

I’m not a happy camper. Definitely a good way to burn people who’ve given you their all!
