A reading from the Book of ZOT!
Ever onward did I tread through the forest of Myth that had sprung up practically overnight. And low didith mine eyes discover that the diseased branches hung low and the roots did runnith deep; fur such was their insatiable hunger.
And as the moon cast it’s gray light across the spring sky did I encounter a dweller of that fell place. He who clamed to be a man of great wisdom who no power could do without. one who had traveled far and whose influence had the name of a good man. But now, he said, in this, the Time of Troubles, there was no chance for good men. No, spakith he, it was time for the faithful to follow a new path, and that the one trode by the Great Cat himself was sheer folly!
Brethren, since the Rainbow Bridge has spanned the sky, we have seen such false prophets. And before stood another. And so did the history of the fair realm repeat anew as the faithful gathered round - for his madness twas contagious!
“The end of the realm!” he proclaimed! “We have little choice!” “Would you willingly walk into destruction?”
And as the crowd grew ever larger, the false prophet grew ever bolder, giving no care for those whose ears are sharp, and tempers already strained through battle.
And lo didith the Great Cat himself emerge from cover, a might bit perturbed that his word seemed unfit to govern his realm and those who dwelled within.
And behind him didith come his eight legged steed, straining at the weight of the ZOT!9000 upon it’s mighty back.
Unfazed by the sight, the false prophet continued weaving tales false, even as the scent of fragrant ozone fill the air.
“I am a conservative!” shouted the false prophet, over and over between words directing the faithful into the land of Myth. It was as if it were some totem or ward he believed would deflect the lightning to come.
But too late didith yon trollkind realize that merest words bear no shield against the Holy Amperage. And so did he resort to another mystical yet powerless spells. Quickly he began to chant, as had many before him, how the presence of money could stay the hand upon the trigger of the ZOT!9000. And like all before him, he vanished in a misty red digital cloud of mist.
And as the cute and fuzzy cleaning crew descended to mop up the mess and set fire the the Fell Forest of Myth, the great cat did once again remind the faithful what it meant to dwell within the promised land.
But it seems of late that the Madness of Myth hath occluded their ears, for it seems that many of the faithful just do not seem to hear his plainly spoken word.
Is it some voodoo that they doo? Is it fear of the imaginary that drives this insanity? Or perhaps many more nuts have fallen from the ACORN tree than was originally surmised.
This we cannot know brethren. But know this. The great cat hath proclaimed his intentions and it is sheer folly to continue tweaking the mighty nose.
