Not familiar, and frankly not interested in looking up the first three people you mentioned. I am familar with the last two (Santorum and Scott Brown). If this is a true indication of who you think is a conservative, then that speaks volumes for you.
Point of the exercise????... It toook 10 days for someone to come up with a short list of conservatives, who are RINO's at best. The NE US is bastion of liberalism, and that mindset infiltrates many freepers from that area who think they are conservatives.
Bottom line?....A conservative in MA, would be a flaming liberal here in Texas.

Pal, you’re attempting to take Tuckers treatsie on Federalism and states rights to justify abolishing the Union and preserving slavery. As I said, if this form of government doesn’t suit you, find another one. As to anti-slavery Confederates in 1861, that’s going out on a limb. The South wasn’t fighting to end it.

Is there something about "Their submission to its operation is voluntary: its councils, its engagements, its authority are theirs, modified, and united. Its sovereignty is an emanation from theirs, not a flame by which they have been consumed, nor a vortex in which they are swallowed up. Each is still a perfect state, still sovereign, still independent, and still capable, should the occasion require, to resume the exercise of its functions, as such, in the most unlimited extent." that you can't comprehend? Seem really straight forward to me.

Haven’t got time for 1861 anymore Reb. Newt is out of the running and the country is in BIG trouble. He’s sounding the warning and no one is listening. Mittens is no different than Obama and if either one ends up in the White House it’s over. You want a fight? Fine. You march north and I’ll march south. Meet up at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and drag that Marxist son of a bitch out by his heels. Then on to Capitol Hill and drag out those criminals. And we do this under the Stars and Stripes, its that serious.

You got that right. I grew up in the South before the damn yankess started moving here in droves. They have ruined Florida and Atlanta.
I have never understood why they become disenchanted with the cesspool they live in and then move somewhere else and then vote to turn the new place into the same cesspool. Fortunately Atlanta is not Georgia.
