RICHMOND, Va. On Wednesday, the Virginia legislature overwhelmingly passed a law that forbids state agencies from cooperating with any federal attempt to exercise the indefinite detention without due process provisions written into sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act.
HB1160 Prevents any agency, political subdivision, employee, or member of the military of Virginia from assisting an agency of the armed forces of the United States in the conduct of the investigation, prosecution, or detention of a United States citizen in violation of the United States Constitution, Constitution of Virginia, or any Virginia law or regulation.

Nothing like a state nullifying a Federal law to get the weekend off to a good start!
Specially when it’s MY state.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Good job, Virginia.
Mine too. Secession is next.
Mine, too.!!
Way to go Del. Bob Marshall and Gov. Bob McDonnell!!
THIS is what I want to see. These several states should be fed up with the usurpation of power. It’s really ingenious how our Founders envisioned a future under tyrannical federal power. It’s just a matter of following their blueprint to resolve the issue universally.
Freedom removes barriers to prosperity. The Federal government wants to enslave us. The states need to stand up to that.
They came together once to solve slavery, it’s time we do it again.

Amen to that. Gratified to see and use the tracker one gentleman put up on their site so you could track the state’s legislative activities in this department. And even more gratified to see my state of Arizona working on one right now (actually started in February in the state senate).
Absolutely!!!! One reason I like this governor (Romney endorsement notwithstanding)!!
I seem to recall that Virginia has tried this in the past, without a lot of success. It also occurs to me that the period generally known as "reconstruction" bears a striking resemblance to the plotline of a current popular movie about "hunger."
Might I suggest that the South is in a better position vs. the North as opposed to the 1860's if we were to try it again.
That said, I'm with ya!
Sic Semper Tyrannis!!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
I freakin’ love this state!
Excellent. I’d like to see this become a National trend.
Fantastic. As goes Virginia, so goes America!
