CBS's Bill Plante on Friday downplayed graphic photos of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan posing with severed body parts of suicide bombers as a GOP "distraction," insisting that Republicans were "somehow" trying to portray this (and other issues) as a failure of leadership. None of the networks wondered if this reflected poorly on Barack Obama. Since the Los Angeles Times first reported the 2010 pictures, ABC has only offered one report, airing on World News. CBS allowed a lone segment on the April 18 Evening News and a brief mention by Plante on Friday's This Morning. He spun, "...Republicans keep pointing

This is why they cannot walk the streets of America without armed bodyguards.
Not that I care about these “photos”, but it is truly amazing how it is reported depending on the current POTUS.
I hope America is paying attention.
You couldn’t buy a New York Times for a year and half without blasting Bush for Abu Ghraib above the fold on the front page.
Ya, Bush was blamed for Abu Grhraib. The media played that drumbeat constantly. It was a failure of leadership at the top, yadda, yadda, yadda. The culture of the military reflects on the commander in chief, etc.
The media blamed Bush for Abu Ghraib. If we’re consistent then Obama should be blamed for this.
If this had happened in ‘08 it would have led for weeks, with no end of how DumBO will get us out of Afghanistan. Of coarse, it is months into the ZerO Afghan surge with no hope of victory in sight.
Yet, on the heels of Abu Ghraib, the “media” ran story after story on the subject. The NYT ran 58 days straight of above-the-fold stories pertaining to it.
How utterly pissed those hacks must’ve been when Bush was reelected.
False premise, as we well know by now. (R) presidents can do no right, (D) presidents can do no wrong. It's as simple as that. If the mud doesn't stick to an (R) spin it as "Teflon" and make that a pejorative (cf. Reagan), if the truth somehow reflects poorly on a (D) spin it as a "distraction" or "politically motivated". It's a very familiar drill but it keeps the chattering classes pleased with themselves.
Liberals hate it when the dog eating Muslim is in charge and somthing happens. It’s never ZerO’s fault.
