I'm in the fifth chapter of "Fast and Furious" and compared to what is laid out in the book so far, those Media Matters points, even if true (and some of them are real stretches, IMHO), more or less amount to saying Shakespeare was a bad writer because he spelled badly. (N.B. In shakespeare's time the rules for spelling were less defined than they are today).

They are not refusing to see the forest for the trees - they are refusing to see the forest for the acorns!

While I love your quote and will surely "borrow" it, I differ with your assertion that this is unintentional stupidity. Leftists distract first, bluster second, then accuse others of their sins (or play the sympathy card). They don't want others to see the forest and will use any and all means to accomplish their agenda.
