What is ticking me off is that the change should start around 8 tonight. Weather channel has some stupid lufeguard program on. WPXI is running sports even though it’s supposed to be news.

Internet is not updating.

My weather station is showing low but steady pressure at 6:30pm. I’m thinking the east coast low has moved north. Maybe enough to keep snowfall to...where yunz are to the east. I might not be in bad shape when I start walking at 6am. Later in the day?????

Considering all that has happened to my family in the past few days I’m happy.

Thank You Lord!

Mr S just heard that Pittsburgh now has an advisory while points east (Armstrong, Indiana, Fayette, etc) all have a warning. Glad to have the 4-wheel drive!

QVC is supposed to have a recipe for bacon wrapped asparagus soon. Can’t wait!

Mitch Daniels just on Fox...not great but why don’t I like him? I can’t recall , LOL.

Just found out our kids already planted cukes, tomatoes and more. We’re scrambling to get things covered!

I’m thinking the east coast low has moved north

The surface low passed Virginia Beach shortly after 6PM (pressure started rising). It is still moving north about 30 mph (just guessing from the 500 mb map), but should slow down quite a bit as it turns to the NW. I think some of the projected snowfall is from upslope (the usual spots that get lake effect with NW winds) and some is from the trowal which should set up from western NY down into NW PA. My thinking is that the trowal will have the most cold and snow. Upslope is still likely but I'm not sure there will be as much of that.

Local forecast here said snow starting by 8pm. 8:30 now and very light rain, mostly a mist. From our family farm 90 miles north they say similar.

I think it will depend on where the east coast low stalls.

It's been rainin' all day here along the Susquehanna (just above the fork), and is to continue same thru Tuesday.

Weather guessers are sayin' it'll stay just warm enough overnight to keep it as rain, though a bunch of it.

Hope y'all to the west/north come thru with power and trees and roofs intact !

Looks like the surface low is further east than they thought it would go. Not sure of the consequences since it is a monster and there still is upslope to deal with, but the trowal which will create the main cold air funnel will be further east and further north.

Looks like both NWS Pitts and NWS State College are dialing back their snow amounts. Pitt is stressing upslope and SC is saying the storm is moving north faster and will be over the Catskills at 18Z (2 pm). Once the storm is north of PA the remaining effects will be upslope and some remanent band like we currently have in NW Virginia. It has a few wet flake mixed in and you guys in PA will have all wet snow, but just a quick inch or two most places as the band moves through (maybe 2-4 if t lingers). Otherwise the effects will be upslope and mostly higher upslope during midday warming.

So far nothing but light rain in Pittsburgh. Some areas had a few flurries mixed in. Forecasters are all over the place. The one my company uses first said 4-8 inches in the city, then 2-4 inches but on his graphic he shows 0.0 inches for the city. It's a CYA thing!

Temps are in the mid 30's now so it's actually not too bad.

There seem to be some bands moving down from the NE. Not sure how far west those will go. I suspect Latrobe and eastward will have the most snow. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=pbz&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
