A defining aspect of the American tradition is that groups of citizens band together for a wide variety of civic purposes. They recruit volunteers, raise funds and spend those funds to promote whatever project or cause brings them together.

We dont apply a political test to these civic groups we recognize the fundamental right of Americans to organize and to pool their resources to promote whatever causes they believe in...

In order to be recognized as non-profit groups, these organizations must register with the IRS a purely ministerial function that has, in the past, been applied evenly and without regard to their political views.
At least until now.
It seems that Tea Party groups are now being treated very differently than their counterparts on the political Left.

A Tea Party group in my district is typical of the reports we are hearing from all across the country. This group submitted articles of incorporation as a non-profit to the state of California, and received approval within a month. Then, they tried to register as a non-profit with the IRS. Despite repeated and numerous inquiries, the IRS stonewalled this group for a year and a half, at which time it demanded thousands of pages of documentation and gave the group less than three weeks to produce it.
The IRS demanded the names of every participant at every meeting held over the last two years, transcripts of every speech given at those meetings, what positions they had taken on issues, the names of their volunteers and donors, and copies of communications they had with elected officials and on and on.
Perhaps most chilling of all, the organizer of this particular group soon found herself the object of a personal income tax audit by the IRS.

Could it be because those who are employed with the IRS are MARXISTS? Just like most of the left?
Traitors ALL.
Why would anyone be surprised by this?
So who is going to investigate the IRS?
Holder’s Justice Department?
DON”T MAKE ME LAUGH.
The Senate>That’s even more hysterical. They have been investigating Fast & Furious for two years with no results, no arrests, subpoenaes ignored and perjured testimony gone unchallenged.
Investigate the IRS????? That’s a joke.
"I bring these facts to the attention of the House today and ask that they be rigorously investigated; and if found accurate that those officials responsible be exposed, disgraced, dismissed and debarred from any further position of trust or power within our government."
With all due respect to the folks at breitbart.com......bullshit.
They need to be ARRESTED AND TRIED IN A COURT OF LAW.
More info:
“...It appears that the IRS is targeting conservative, liberty-focused organizations such as Tea Parties and 912 groups. By the numbers, 1,700 organizations applied for 501(c)(4) status in 2010. To date, over 1,400 of those applications have been approved, leaving about 300 outstanding. Of that 300, more than half are issue-driven Tea Party groups. The numbers speak for themselves.”

Eric does not read his email and cannot find the third gun. Why does he qualify for a paycheck?
What we need is a supermajority in both the house and senate and Obummer gone in November.
We need more than that with the number of Rinos running and currently holding office in the senate.
The lib/rino group won’t be over come in Nov.
We are screwed.
There’s still hope. The last thing I want is for the fourth branch of government (we the people) to reassert our God given right to restore our republic by force.
We need to expose these people and weed them out of government...Support our local tea-parties and try and educate as many people as we can. We still have half the country who doesn’t vote we can work on and get involved.
(Even if he doesn't, imagine the Obama crime syndicate panicking and shredding everything. Even if he wins the election, all of his files will be gone, and Obama will have to explain where all the documentation for his first 4 years went...)
Of course they're being treated different than the leftist groups. For conservatives, their views are seen as being a supplement to their religion, which makes the fictitious "separation of Church and State" argument. For the lefties, their political views ARE their religion which makes it protected as a non-profit.
In N Ireland, the Sinn Fein party is said to be the political wing of the IRA. I guess that makes the democrat party the political wing of the IRS.
The IRS makes the KGB look like the PTA.
I'd rather have a colonoscopy with a crowbar.
Almost perfect picture except there is no entrance for Crackers around back.
