This is a link to Need to Know, of a documentary concerning the death of a "migrant," at the hands of an out of control group of border patrol agents. Flame on!

Before I click on PBS, you’re going to have to tell me it’s worth it.

“an out of control group of border patrol agents”

And your evidence for this is? I loved the video when they showed a group of agents standing around the (high on meth) illegal alien and they said it was reminiscent of the Rodney King beating. Funny...I recall they were beating Rodney King, not standing around. The bias in this “expose” is nothing short of Trayvon Martin reporting. I loved how when they went to meet the witness in Mexico, the witness did not show up. They called someone on the phone who claimed to have seen what had happened and they framed a picture of Jesus just between the two reporters heads as they shook their heads in agreement while the mystery witness spoke-lol. Anyone with any knowledge of “camera framing” (like when a black audience member is placed strategically over the shoulder of a politician to appear in the camera shot) will get a laugh.

They claim over and over there was no resistance but then feature an eyewitness (who did show up for the interview) who said the illegal did resist...slamming his feet against the cruiser to avoid getting put into the car. They play the same 12 seconds of dark grainy video where the guy is screaming while being tazed. Is he supposed to be singing? Telling jokes? Who doesn’t scream while being tased? Another witness claims he saw them beating him over and over again and has video to prove it. You see nothing in the video and the witness only says “Why are you pushing on him?” If I was conserned about someone getting beaten over and over again, I would say “why are you hitting him!” “Why are you beating him?!” not “why are you pushing on him”.

The guy was here illegally, was high on meth, and had been arrested for stealing booze. He complained that he was pushed against a wall and the inside of his ankles were kicked. Hello? Anyone who has ever watched cops or even cheesy cop dramas can tell you thats how they spread your legs to be frisked. They made it seem like this was some sort of diabolical torture method.

Sorry, after Trayvon, I like a little more evidence from more reliable sources.

I completely agree!

There’s a virtually infinite amount of stuff to read, watch, or listen to on the Internet. Tell us why we should look at whatever you’re posting about.

Also, telling us a bit about what you’re posting, and why you’re posting it really helps to sort out the trolls from the serious posters. Trolls throw their stinking mess over the fence to see what kind of reaction they can stir up. Serious posters (often) help lead the discussion. (I’m not accusing quickquiver of trolling — just saying that there’s no way of knowing.)

First I watched this video as it was on TV, then I looked it up on the internet. The thing is less than 30 minutes long, so it wasn’t burdensome. I do not have a knee-jerk reaction to the topics presented. PBS does have a template they are apparently trying to fit the story into.

However, my position on taser weapons is completely in line with the country of Germany, where they are 100% illegal. If China uses them on an institutional basis to torture people to death before they harvest organs, that ought to be enough for red-blooded Americans to be against them on principle.

Jack-booted thugs does describe this incident to a tee, though, IMHO.

Taser weapons are apparently used on a routine basis here where I live, as a first response. The police scanner radio goes off in my head, “taser deployed,” every time I listen in, and then I cringe. It tells me that a law enforcement officer has once again been put in the position of his/her life or the perps. NOT! It is used as a torture weapon and therefore is against the constitution, period.

Someone needs to rewatch the video without the blinders on. The “stop resisting” comment by one of the officers is a riot. Handcuffed behind the back and barely moving, lying on the ground is resisting? In what universe?
