Mitt Romney to roll up delegates in 5 GOP primaries [Milt predicts total win]

David Lightman and Erika Bolstad

ASTON, Pa. — "Mitt Romney is expected to win all five Republican presidential primaries Tuesday,
but Pennsylvania and Connecticut will be watched closely for signs
that he could headed for trouble in those states in November.

A weaker-than-expected showing in Pennsylvania against Rick Santorum,
who represented the state in the U.S. Senate from 1995 to 2007,
would raise fresh questions about Romney’s appeal in a general-election swing state.

...

Connecticut also will offer some clues about Romney’s November prospects there.
The state shares a long border with Massachusetts, where Romney was the governor from 2003 to 2007,
and it has a history of embracing GOP moderates.

Romney should win it big, but a very low turnout — and lack of enthusiasm — could signal more trouble.

....

like a faucet," said Chris DePino, a former Connecticut GOP chairman"

PA and CT? Are they really on Mittens`radar screen as competitive in the general? It`s been 24 years since either went anything but Dem in a Presidential election.

...truly a pointless article...both those states are in the bag for Obama, and as I live in PA, and must endure this corrupt and bloodsucking commonwealth for at least a few more years, I know of what I speak...

The Republican does not have to win CT (a blue state) or PA (a bluish purple state) or MI (another bluish purple state).

The keys for a Republican are (A) FL, (B) OH, and (C) WI, IA and/or MN. In a close election, the Republican has to win two of these three. (In other words, either win both FL and OH; or, win one of those two states and at least two of WI, IA and MN.)

If the economy continues soft, this won’t be a close election. In that case, a Republican like Romney (i.e., a moderate) will make major inroads into bluish purple states.

Also, there are a lot of Senate races in play in the states I’ve mentioned. Obviously, FL, OH and WI, where we have very good chances of picking up seats.

But, if we’re competitive, the Senate seats in MI, MN and PA could swing into play. And, we actually have a shot at a Senate seat in CT.

This could be a major, major year for our side.

I was the only one in the polling place this morning.

I'd say PA is most definitely in play. Ouside of the 'hood and some college campi, Obama is NOT popular in this state.

Outside of the 'hood and some college campi, Obama is NOT popular in this state.

Therein lies the problem. The 'hoods in Philly.

Since most folks in the country think Mitt’s nomination is in the bag, I can understand the low turnout. If that’s all there is on the ballot, why bother? (Channeling them, not me.)

Wow... pathetic. People are just turning off to the GOP. After this debacle of a primary season, it's certainly understandable. The GOP would've served its interests by nominating a candidate who actually has a base of support. No one gives two sh*ts about Romney. He generates NO interest.

Here in VA, I travel 40 miles each way to/from work, and have yet to see a single pro-Romney bumper sticker. Meanwhile, Obama's hordes have set up offices and are working this state from end to end.

But, like I've said before, the RNC never had victory in its sights for the Presidential race. Romney is simply "bait" to attract hopefully enough moderates and indies to hold the House and maybe eke out a tiny majority in the Senate.

Many agree...perhaps 'minority status' makes them comfortable...they can't/won't lead, and they don't want to...they just want the power, the perks, the parties...

Not only may Romney lose but he may cause us to lose the House and Senate because of a lack of enthusiasm. Stupid Party, they’re going to blow a easy layup.
