The Perfect Storm of Liberalism
American Spectator ^ | April 24, 2012 | Jeffrey Lord

Posted on 04/24/2012 5:23:06 AM PDT by reaganaut1

The Perfect Storm of Liberalism has arrived.

A professional collapse inside the several departments and agencies of the United States government created by a decades-long erosion of standards. An erosion fed by all manner of deadly liberal obsessions from racial quotas to political correctness to an addiction to lawsuits, the tolerance for a culture of out of control spending, wildly improper personal behavior, and more.

This deadly combination is now surfacing repeatedly in scandals as seemingly different as those engulfing the Secret Service, the GSA, the U.S. military, the Department of Justice, and every other tentacle of the federal government imaginable.

Let's look at it liberal issue by liberal issue and examine how this perfect storm of liberalism is swamping the affected government department or agency in question.

Let's start with:

• Racial quotas and the Secret Service: An American Spectator source has fingered the hot-button issue of racial quotas as a serious problem for the Secret Service, an allegation now surfacing (hesitantly to be sure) in no less than the liberal Washington Post.

Did the Secret Service deliberately reduce its hiring standards to insure that minorities were hired and promoted in the name of racial quotas?

Ironically setting up the possibility that the personal security of America's first black president -- himself a decided liberal -- could have been breached with disastrous consequences?

Did this alleged lowering of the agency's standards wind up slowly infecting the agency across-the-board? Thus setting the stage for the explosive sex scandal that has led to the investigation of 12 Secret Service agents. Was the Cartagena scandal actually "fixed" -- "settled" -- until the Miami SAC got wind of what was happening on her turf -- when she blew the scandal wide open?

I remember when Obama was inaugurated there was a media story done on the secret service agent put in charge of his security. It was a black guy. The story focused on the fact that he was the first black agent put in charge of presidential security. I don’t know if he still has that billet, but I am a bit curious as to why he has been forgotten.

It was unusual for a feature story to be run on a presidential secret service detail to begin with. But now that all this has happened, where is the follow-up? Since the guy already made himself available to the media, why aren’t they pursuing him?

So, the logic must go this way - The Secret Service is under examination because of the hooker incident in Columbia. This sort of problem can be prevented in the future by hiring minority agents, because black agents will have more control over their sexual appetites. Just like in the NBA. And the NFL.

Maybe there should be racial quotas there as well to reduce the number of black athletes so that the NBA and NFL won't be embarrassed in the future. [sarc]

This is how fascism works. And everyone feels helpless to do anything about it...weellll guess what?

LEADERSHIP CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.( and if leadership fails, the people will have to do someting about it.)

Define the fascism, expose it and get rid of it.

Liberal fascism is our nations WORST enemy, and it is personified by Barrak Hussein Obama.

In my opinion, US postal workers are of very high quality across the board. The USPS always has had a diverse population of employees, so I think that's one government agency that never got caught up in affirmative action madness. As a result, people of all races were hired and promoted based on merit. I am very impressed with the Post Office and hope it can be saved.

Because you think the USPS has facilities where they store mail until it's ripe.

The reality is your creditors have gotten into the habit of mailing as late in possible so they can churn the maximum opportunity for late payment fees. They've also dropped their address quality hygiene standards, and even farmed out their billing to people on the other side of the continent. You only think you are getting billed by people across town.

They have several other tricks that delay mail ~

You might send them a letter and find out what they are so that you can prepare for them.

Oh, yeah, and remember when they all eliminated the opportunity to PAY EARLY? That was so their actions to delay billing to generate late payment fees worked so well.

USPS employment has the world's most culturally, ethnically and racially mixed workforce on Earth. The US Army is second.

I have seen attempts at USPS Headquarters to impose "affirmative action" by promoting unqualified non-college educated women into jobs otherwise requiring a masters or doctors degree.

That usually lasts a few months ~ then somebody figures out the work still has to get done so you'll see those people shoveled off the path like last week's dirty snow.

I don’t think this is so much a racial issue as an affirmative action issue. That is, it is not that there is an inherent difference between minorities and whites as to sexual self-control; rather, it is a question of whether the most qualified persons are in leadership positions or is affirmative action degrading both leadership and the confidence of those being led in the Secret Service.

The charge of 'racism' has been the single most effective means of deconstructing this country.

The answer is simple - each of us must be held to the same standard, period. Academically, in our chosen professions and personal behavior whatever the result. Regardless of any other consideration.

Of course this will never happen - the grievance industry is big money.

Boy, is THAT ever a spot-on observation. I know some retired letter carriers in their 70's and 80's who took pride in their job as professionals, and always wore the uniform neatly and proudly as if they were in the police force or the military.

In contrast I had an interaction with a postal worker the other day who not only looked like a disheveled street person, but who also seemed just dimly aware of her own existence.

During the Clinton years, the USPS began to give very preferential treatment to blacks — someothing not widely reported — and almost overnight, the force became heavily black.

I’ve seen a steady decline in service with the arrival of mostly black postal deliverers. They misdeliver something every single week. That NEVER used to happen. Plus, they often have a nasty attitude rather than an attitude they are here to serve the public. They walk across the lawn, for example, instead of following walkway.

So both the accuracy of service and the quality of the relationship between the USPS and its customers has deteriorated badly. This is the major reason I pay everything online. I can’t trust the bills to get to where they are supposed to go ontime.

True, and that will stop them from "balking" at the suggestion that the hotel insist they pay double occupancy as they check out. You know majority agents would be screaming to the world about that to the media.

“Women and gays also get affirmative action hiring by the Federales.”

I'm no fan of the bloated, under-performing federal bureaucracy. But during part of my misguided young adulthood, I worked in a federal agency in Washington, DC. and served on many hiring “panels.” I never saw an explicit preference for women or gays. I did see preference for the disabled, sometimes to humorous effect (e.g., hiring someone with a speech impediment to be a telephone receptionist) and also for military veterans.

It has EVERYTHING to do with your creditors. I continue to be one of the world's foremost experts in these matters and I can assure you they mail as late as legally possible (as far away as possible), and under conditions that maximize delay.

Their whole purpose is to generate late payment charges.

Just ask them why they mail so late.

I hope an investigation will look into ALL the USG agencies as there are many flagrant abuses of things like, unnecessary conferences being held in holiday type locations. One of the last items on most conference agendas is to vote on where the next conference will be held. I know, I worked for the USG for many years.

Oh, yeah, crossing lawns ~ no, that's not the employees, that's management ~ the virtually lilly white postal management who directed the carriers to cross lawns.

Thought you knew that.

Well, live and learn. Frankly, I'd like to take away DOOR DELIVERY and replace it with community cluster box service. Then you could cut across your own lawn and nobody would care.

Bwahahahahah!

Oh, and the black employees? The percentage was a tad higher BEFORE Bill Clinton. As you know seniority counts in USPS in the crafts, so the employees get to "bid" on the better carrier routes. As black employees began to achieve serious seniority (due to years of good performance and clean records) they bid on your neighborhood.
