University police do nothing to stop desecration of crosses in pro-life display

BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY, April 24, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Campus police stood by as students placed condoms over thousands of tiny crosses as part of an approved university “art project,” according to a pro-life student at Western Kentucky University. The campus group Hilltoppers for Life obtained university permission to erect 3,700 crosses, commemorating the number of babies aborted each day in America, as part of its Cemetery of the Innocents.

John Sohl, the organization’s president, said he confronted two vandals early Friday morning with his video camera. One of them “told me at the beginning of this that she did have her teacher’s permission to do this, this was her art project,” Sohl said.

When he told the pair their actions may constitute vandalism, the woman complained, “I think it’s kinda weird that you’re allowed to express yourself, and I’m not.”

“Coexist” - brought to you by CAIR.
Islam encourages the facade of the “friendly Muslim” when their numbers are such that they can’t force Sharia on the rest of society.

On a related note, if you happen to see someone coming or going from a car with this sticker on it, make a show of staring at it and say “well I’ll be... I never saw the hidden message between the letters before” and walk away.

Just having the art classes draw their rendition of what Muhammed might have looked like would be an offense against Islam.(No images of him allowed.)

Could the kids get away with that?

Art is art.

” “well I’ll be... I never saw the hidden message between the letters before” and walk away.”

Good one.

Perhaps I should have said “those obnoxious, cloying Coexist bumper stickers”.

Anyhow, my point remains — abortofascists would be less likely to vandalize those displays, if they weren't entirely Christian.

Actually, free speech is probably the best way to take care of this problem. That is, the woman was probably thrilled with a *little* publicity about her actions. How would she feel with a *lot* of publicity about her actions?

Publicity is like salting your food. A little is good, but too much can make the food inedible.

In this, the Internet could prove invaluable, especially the “extremely bad taste” part of the Internet.

In particular, I am thinking of a website where all posters are anonymous, which is actually the birthplace of the “Anonymous” group. Not an organization, really, but an ad hoc collective with the sensibilities of “the mob”.

This website is called 4chan. It reminds me of the poem by Vachel Lindsay, in which he wrote: “Then along that river-bank/A thousand miles/Tattooed cannibals danced in files.”

Well, in any event, all posters to 4chan are anonymous.

But every now and then, somebody foolishly posts their picture there, then either ill-advisedly asks a question that offends, or tries to insult this collective of heinous hyenas.

And 4chan is truly impressive in their ability to track down and mess with people who do this, with little more to go on than a photograph (and their IP number, so DO NOT use your own computer). And they are brutish beasts when they take against someone.

How exactly to offend 4chan is a good question, but there are examples to go by. And the irony of 4chan attacking someone they would probably agree with were they to know the truth, is delicious.

Yet if this is successful, this student would likely never, ever mess around with pro-life people again, and might even try to avoid using the Internet ever again. A great example for those like her.

The *best* thing that could happen to her is to be turned into a nasty Internet meme, plastered all over the place with a stupid caption.

I love your tagline! That’s going in my list of awesome quotes.

Or, if you shoot a minority yout as he’s walking through a gated community, that’s freedom of expression—Right?
