North Korea could carry out an underground test of a nuclear weapon as early as Tuesday night as the North's reclusive leadership dramatically tries to up the stakes with the U.S. and the West, U.S. officials told NBC News.
U.S. officials say North Korea may already have an arsenal between 12 and a "few dozen" far more advanced weapons, many more than generally believed.

We all do.
NK is a client state of China more than anything
It’ll destroy the capital city of the Mole Men of Mongo colony.
BEWARE!!!
Ming the Merciless will not be pleased. Our only hope will be to pre-emptively surrender to General Zod and hope that he will defend planet Houston from Ming’s minions.
:-P
Korea is a troublesome client state ~
If this goes as well as their rocket test, these guys might not be a problem for much longer.
If they are actually working with something outside the usual standards we expect with nuclear energy they might end up zapping their whole part of the world ~
They must still be loading the ammonium nitrate, that we probably sent them.
“they used Koreans almost exclusively as their guards over POWS and other foreign nationals.”
not exactly accurate. They used Japanese in many areas. In Korea they forced Koreans to do it.
I spoke with one older gentleman who was made a supervisor over a work crew. The Japanese had just shot the old supervisor. They initially assigned it to another man, who refused it. After he was also shot the man I spoke with accepted the ‘promotion’.
Koreans were tough guys.
bringing back memories.....:)
North Korea’s state news agency, Chosun Central News Agency (KCNA) has announced a special announcement scheduled to take place at 3PM today, April 25th. No further news was included in the announcement.

It is 3:09 Nork time now
Nothing yet, but on the front page of Rodong Sinmun they write this:
Notice from Special Operation Action Group of
KPA Supreme Command
The special actions of our revolutionary armed forces will start soon to meet the reckless challenge of the group of traitors.
Those actions are an eruption of the public anger and resentment and a sacred war of all service personnel and people to protect the dignity of our supreme leadership.
Their targets are the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors, the arch criminals, and the group of rat-like elements including conservative media destroying the mainstay of the fair public opinion.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Seoul should just say "blow it out your ass, we've heard this 29,475 times before already dammit."
I doubt they will try anything, at least today or the next few days, and assets would have already shown them positioning for something, to which the ROK military and USFK would be getting ready for. More likely, they want to give Obongo the Hershey Squirts their their brinksmanship, knowing full well he is in desperate reelection mode in the White House, and they need that damned rice badly. I suspect the threat will be to do a nuke test "in the near future" and not specifcy when or where, just to make things more tense. 3:30 pm. local
They may possibly nuke themselves.....we can hope.
South Korea appears to be taking seriously the latest attack threat from North Korea.
Police say they have increased patrols around headquarters of nine conservative media outlets in Seoul after North Korea vowed to soon carry out a “special military action” on them by “unprecedented means and methods.”
South Korea’s government says it is concerned about Pyongyang’s threat to reduce to ashes, in several minutes, the support base for the country’s president, including several broadcasters and a leading daily newspaper, the Dong-a Ilbo.
Foreign ministry spokesman Cho Byung-je characterizes the latest threat from Pyongyang as very dangerous and harsh.
Cho says South Korea’s government and military are strengthening their security postures and are on alert to prepare for any situation. He also warns that any military provocation by North Korea will be answered with a punishment by the South.

Thanks, yes it is at a different level. On this page http://lewis.armscontrolwonk.com/archive/5171/5171 they have some of the strange rat posters. Something bad might happen, a psychiatrist is needed for many in NK.
