Skip to comments.Confidants: Secret Service agents contend misbehavior on trips not unprecedented

Some Secret Service employees accused of misconduct in the Colombian prostitution scandal are privately contending that their conduct didnt warrant dismissal because senior managers tolerated similar behavior during official trips, according to people familiar with the employees thinking.
Several of the men who agreed to resign under pressure last week are also considering reversing their decisions and fighting to keep their jobs, according to the people knowledgeable about the case.
The prospect of Secret Service agents sharing embarrassing tales about rank-and-file employees and superiors partying to the hilt could bring more anguish to an agency reeling from scandal.
Those close to the accused employees said that in an effort to fight for their jobs they could opt to divulge details of how colleagues spent some of their downtime on presidential trips drinking heavily, visiting strip clubs and cavorting with women for hire.
Of course it has happened before said one agent not implicated in the matter, remarking on the Secret Services history of occasionally licentious partying. This is not the first time. It really only blew up in this case because the [U.S. Embassy] was alerted.

LOL....love it. “Reinstate me without prejudice, or I start telling tales and naming names. You want serious dirty laundry to hit the airwaves? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
Scorched earth. :)
Here we see the WP in sob-sister mode, sucking up to the bottom of the Sexy Service barrel, hoping to get more of them to open up and give them a big scoop. It’s a win-win for the WP, of course. For our country, it’s something else entirely. But hey, what else is new?
All around the world, due to a plethora of women from the South America, Asia and the former Soviet Union, this happens. Anywhere there are businessmen, politicians, and the rich & famous, there is this behavior. Go to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, any hotel you walk in, any club you walk in. Its everywhere. The engine that runs Thailand is fueled by prostitution.
There have been several books written about the antics of the Secret Service on November 21, 1963. Apparently they spent the night carousing and drinking and many blame this, in part, for the assassination of JFK. So, perhaps, this is indeed not “unprecedented”.
Divorce is never pretty.
Corruption can not last at the bottom of an origination, without corruption at the top.
For Obama and his people, its been a party from day one.
This going to be fun to watch.
I clearly recall a retired SS officer confirming that they would arrange hookers for JFK when he travelled.
As I recall it was related that the hooker met them at the airport for JFK’s Hawaii trip.
Do we really think the underlings never took advantage of the same “Perks” that were provided to the president and other top people?
What must a good citizen/Secret Service member do? Fall on HIS sword? (Or hers, as the case may be?)
NO MORE ANGUISH!
How about just the 'truth'?
(A 'straight' sword to the side; better than a crooked one.) No exemptions, here; just the facts; please.
