The White House has formally named 13 winners of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, for “especially meritorious contributions to the security and national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural and other significant public or private endeavors.”
The honorees are Madeleine Albright, secretary of state under President Clinton; civil-rights enforcer John Doar; influential musician Bob Dylan; physician and epidemiologist William Foege; John Glenn, a former U.S. senator and astronaut; the late Gordon Hirabayashi, who as a university student challenged wartime interment; Dolores Huerta, a civil-rights and worker advocate; Polish Underground officer Jan Karski, who witnessed and reported on Nazi atrocities; Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low; novelist Toni Morrison; Shimon Peres, the former Israeli premier and president; former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens; and record-breaking women’s college basketball coach Pat Summitt.

It’s just sad that this “award” is being given to anti-American radicals: influential??? musician Bob Dylan . . . for what? Having one of the most awful voices ever recorded? . . . John Glenn for letting the rapist, sexual predator Clinton escape being expelled from our White House . . . . and then Albright, one of Hitlery’s girlfriends whose anti-Semitic rants and lousy diplomacy stick out like sore thumbs?
These awards have relegated this noble award to be nothing more than Nobel Prizes for the Incompetent and Anti-Americans.
How much did the honorees contribute to obama’s re-election campaign?

For being a very important American musician and songwriter. BTW Dylan is NOT liberal. He drove the anti war crowd nuts in the 60s for not denouncing the war in Vietnam. He's pro Israel and pro war on terror. I don't know if he's conservative, but he's not a hippie.

But in what way is he qualified for our nation's highest honor? What has he done? Sing? And even that's horribly questionable.
