“Each of us is only here because somebody looked out for us.
This is the lie of socialism. We are “here” both because of self-responsibility and the totality of everything that has gone on before us, whether intended to benefit us or not.
This communist statement ignores self-responsibility and the contributions of others that benefit us that doesn’t fit their view of altruism.
By undermining self-responsibility, the socialists do harm. This is so obvious, I’ll not dwell on it.
What I will comment on, instead, is whether altruism actually is beneficial. This is problematic. Unenlightened attempts to help others often lead to lives of unhappiness, uselessness and even anti-social behavior.
In contrast, self-interested behavior in the marketplace, if honest, motivates people to lives that are happy and rewarding.
The problems, then, are twofold: On the “do-gooing” side, it is to actually benefit others when do-gooding. And, on the self-interested side, it is to restrain the dishonesty, cheating, theft and fraud that self-interestedness might otherwise result in.
Simple-minded people like the idiot in the White House disgrace only themselves when they confuse ignorance with self-righteousness.
Each of us is only here because somebody looked out for us.
This statement would be made only by someone who has no idea of the military culture or mindset. IMO, the entire speech sounded like pandering. Example: the new bill designed to “protect” military men/women/families from fraud, abuse, scams. AS IF military men/women/families aren’t smart enough to take care of themselves.
The marxist in chief also injected “ alienation” :
” alienation
Under capitalism, Marx points out, the human condition is one of alienation, i.e., human beings are estranged from their world, in terms of work, social relations, and so on. His goal was to help workers re-connect with themselves and with the world around them. Once the working class became conscious of these facts—he predicted—it would act to overthrow capitalist society and establish a new form of classless society. “
By discussing collectivism he also pointed out how “ capitalism “ alienates the proletariat .
Barry/Hussein is a marxist lunatic. Only the truly ignorant cannot connect his words with Marxs` words.
