Yes, you would think with the bases closed, that these areas would move on to other "industries". The bar/club business in these areas is still going strong, not quite as strong in Subic Bay as during the base days, but is actually stronger in Angeles City since the base days from what I have read.

The only things that have changed in the Subic Bay area, as well as the Angeles City area as far as bars/bargirls are concerned is the clientele. Prior to 1992, the "customer" base in Olongapo/Subic Bay and Angeles City bars was U.S. Military - after the base closings in 1992, it is now international tourist.
