So Obama wants to ground fisherman on the Gulf of Maine from October 1 to December 1 for no good reason? As bad as I feel for the fishermen, I can’t help but notice that the timing is *perfect* for the GOP, what with the U.S. Senate election and the competitive ME-02 race this November; and if this also affects some fishermen from Portsmouth, NH, it could help the GOP win the NH governorship, hold the NH-01 and lock up NH’s 4 EVs to get Romney to 270.

................October 1 to December 1 ...............

Yeah, right after the warmer waters of all summer long have made the fish nice and fat living off all the waters bounty, and before they leave the area on their migration routes.

Great,Zer0, kill another industry already severely hurting from over fishing and foreign factory boats.

I (unfortunately) completely agree. WTH are they thinking? I suppose some of the economic damage will be mitigated by the fact that the ban won't be hitting during the summer tourist season. OTOH, the “leaf peepers” eat too. And they're going to want seafood, not KFC.

This could very well be the event that sets into motion the election scenarios you laid out, AuH2ORepublican.
