It is good to re-read this chapter of “To Set The Record Straight.”
Many people still don’t realize what the Democrat machine did then and continues to do.

Buckhead’s post came later that evening...after the broadcast was over.
I give Buckhead the credit because he was the first to say that it appeared to be created on a word processor.
I’m sensitive to this whole thing because I was on freerepublic discussing this at the time. I even tried the superscript with word. I told someone that my superscript was at a level, relative to the normal font, that was different from the forged documents. I posted it and someone replied “print it off and it will match.
I did and it did. Rather was so nailed by Freerepublic, yet somehow “little green footballs” gets a lot of credit for it.
I think they both got awards from Accuracy In Media, too.
Since then, Tanker's name has been edited out of the wikipedia page and forgotten on FR.
You can ask either of them.
The difference in the two posts is that Tanker was arguing where information appeared, but Buckhead was arguing the technology. He was basically arguing that even if you never saw anything produced there the documents were created by computer software. And he was dead on.
The Tanker post was more of a “we didn’t do it that way where I was stationed” sort of thing. It became, by far, the lesser meme, and more difficult to substantiate.
In my entire life, I’ve never seen someone in high position so utterly and quantifiably skewered by bloggers as Dan Rather was with those fake documents. It was beautiful.
I guess everyone back in 2004 was wrong.

Tanker KC’s name should not be forgotten.
But I will say again as I said at the time, if it hadn’t been me it would have been somebody else in a few minutes anyway because it was bleeding fricking obvious those documents were fake.
I wish we could do more to stop Obama’s agenda.
