Occupy protesters have amped up May Day labor demonstrations across the country with a wide range of partnering organizations and individuals. Former 60s anti-war activist William Bill Ayers is among those protesting in Chicago on Tuesday.
He said he planned to participate in the May Day demonstration at Union Park in Chicago and the subsequent march.
Well march right past the scene of the Haymarket massacre, Ayers said of the protest in favor of an eight-hour work day in 1886 that was bombed. I’m old enough to remember the 60’s demonstrations. The Left has learned nothing from the intervening decades.
The major difference between the 60’s and today is that the demonstrators have friends in the White House and other parts of the Democratic Party.
I’d like to see some moderate Democrats stand up to their own party and say that what the Democrats and the Occupiers are doing is unprincipled and reprehensible.
Is "anti-war activist" the current fashionable euphemism for "domestic terrorist"? It'd be helpful to know.
