In Mad Scramble for North Carolina's 15 Electoral Votes, Obama 4 Atop Romney
Survey USA ^ | 4/26/2012 - 4/30/2012

In an election for President of the United States toady 05/01/12, incumbent Democrat Barack Obama narrowly holds North Carolina's 15 critical electoral college votes, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WRAL-TV Raleigh.

Obama leads 12:1 among North Carolina's African Americans, who are 20% of the voters in this poll. If blacks turnout in smaller numbers, Obama will underperform these poll numbers.

Republican Mitt Romney leads by 20 points among North Carolina's white voters and by 5 points among Independents. 15% of Democrats cross-over to vote Republican. But: Romney is significantly disadvantaged among Moderates, where Obama leads by 23 points; without greater support from Moderates, Romney will have trouble turning the swing-state Red.

Romney leads in greater Charlotte, is tied with Obama in greater Greensboro, and trails Obama in Raleigh and in Southern and Coastal NC. Obama leads among the least affluent voters; the two are effectively even among middle-income voters; Romney leads among more affluent voters.

If Romney cannot win North Carolina, he may as well drop out of the race right now and let Sarah or Newt have the nomination.

20% whom self identify as “Very Conservative” are voting for Bambi. Either this poll is totally bogus, or they over sampled Free Republic were it’s ABR (Anyone but Romney)

It doesn’t matter who is asked....Nobody wants Romney. I don’t blame the Conservatives for sure. Romney is more than the worst candidate chosen in history. I am laughing at the stupid GOPe when I see all these polls. We tried to warn those idiots that Romney was gong to lose and lose badly, but nobody would listen. Now they will see it with their own eyes.

It will not make any difference. It took me thirty years to finally figure this out. But the "ruling class" does not give a rat's ass about who wins elections and where the country is going. They only care about maintaining their own petty positions.

Whatever. You cannot be a conservative and support Romney. It is impossible. You might say you are but your actions say otherwise.

When you despise Osama Obama as much as I do,when you're as disgusted as I am by the damage that Osama has already done to this country, when you're as fearful as I am of the damage that an unrestrained Osama...that is,an Osama who doesn't have to worry about raising another dollar or about getting another vote...would cause during a second term, when you remember as clearly as I do what that whackjob Ross Perot's ego did to this country you can vote for Romney,in spite of the fact that he's far from being your ideal candidate.

In 2010, both houses of the NC Legislature went overwhelmingly to the GOP for the first time since Reconstruction. The Dim Governor is fleeing office because she knows she is wasting her time running again. The state has had only 3 GOP governors since Reconstruction, but she knows she is toast in 2012. It is likely the GOP will pick up 3-4 more House seats. The economy is still moribund, the housing market stinks, unemployment is still high, and the citizenry is at least as mad as in 2010.

Whoever is taking this poll is smoking some really nice weed.

It doesn't matter if Elmer Fudd is running against him. Ozero is going down here in NC in 2012 by a landslide.
