There is this constant effort to try to have this lifestyle not only tolerated, but accepted and celebrated. They couldn't care less about their Christian customers which make up a much larger than the 1-2% of the population who is homosexual.

Read the comments below the article, though. In all but two of the comments (at this point), people are praising JC Penney and admonishing One Million Moms and conservative Christians for intolerance. It's either the libs have flooded the comments in this per usual or more and more people rejecting Judeo-Christian values and are embracing the homosexual lifestye under the banner of tolerance. The debate has been framed that conservative Christians are intolerant, and nobody wants to be intolerant. Liberals deem that as one of the worst sins, unless you're intolerant to conservative Christians, that is.

Sample comments:

"These homophobes really need to get a life. I say good for these retailers for showing diverse families in their advertisements."

"Welcome to 2012, OMM. There are people of the same sex in relationships that *gasp* have kids. If you don't like it, don't shop there. Easy enough. No need to force your values and opinions to the rest of the customers."

"Such hate by these anti-gay groups. This is 2012 for crying out loud! What, do we have to have another civil rights movement to jolt these people into reality? Lesbian, gay, straight, transgender, transsexual - live and let live!"

One person says:

"Just because someone may not be comfortable with another person's same-sex relationship doesn't make them a homophobe!"

Getting this response:

"Ummmmmm.....yes it does. If you were black and i was not comfortable with you, would that make me a racist? yes, it would. works the same way. sorry, i know you Christians like to think that you are doing good, "God's work" but it is hate no matter how you try to spin it"

"So JC Penny is not hopping on the" hate gays" train...good on them...what will these mom's do when one of their children tells them they are gay?....I hope gay boys and girls, who are born gay, are only born to loving parents who love them for who they are.."

Good—We must stand up for our beliefs or see them fall to perversion. Stores want to feature Gays to show how Hip and Coll they are—FINE—let Gays shop there—all Normals can go somewhere else! Lots of other places do not focus on the Gay market. If you don’t think its important—wait to see the Gay movies, gay TV shows and gay lifestyle thats coming along with every other “Formerly forbidden” behavior. How long will it be before we have child sex? Ritual murder? It is a slippery slope.

How do they know they are lesbians and not sisters, friends, mother, daughters and granddaughters, etc?

On the contrary, I think the majority of Americans are accepting of homosexuals... as awful as it is for me to say. But not in the way the commercial went, I think most people feel they are okay with whatever people want to do, as long as it doesn’t infringe on them. Believe me I wish it weren’t true!

Maybe not to embrace the lifestyle, I most people are in a mindset of being afraid of seeming intolerant. In the same way that most white people aren’t racist, but most white people are afraid of being racist so they go to the extreme to make themselves seem accepting of other races... which usually just makes them look more ignorant.

In this same manner, I think JC Penney is getting caught up in the fear of seeming intolerant so they are going to the extreme and embracing the lifestyle. Stupid move in my opinion, but until white people can break this spiral of being afraid of looking racist or intolerant, this is far from stopping.

Amazing. You have to be tolerant of homosexuals, but homosexuals do not have to be tolerant of heterosexuals.

Penny’s with this ad is offending 98% of the America population and with the Million Moms Boycott, JCP will be out of business by the end of the summer.

“JCPenney under attack from conservative group over lesbian couple in new Mother’s Day campaign...”

####

JCPenney being questioned in a statement from a group of normal people, over perverted lesbian couple in new Mother’s Day campaign, which mocks the very idea of this highly respected American traditional holiday.

I buy most of my clothes from the J.C. Penney catalog (I’m 6’5” tall, and they offer tall clothing). It’s been a struggle, what with Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson, and a catalog filled to the brim with effeminate metrosexuals modeling the clothes. I think my order last month was my last one. Later, J.C. Penney.

My letter to JCP.

Most people I know wouldn’t care about this in your face Lesbian promotion. The problem is that although we supposedly are to celebrate diversity in this free nation? Gay’s and Lesbians are wholly offended when Christanity is celebrated. So they asked for the battle and this battle is now on your doorstep where you placed it. We as an extended family of successful people have just scratched you off our shopping options.

As I said and it’s worth repeating. I don’t care about someones sexuality. I care that they are the most discriminatory minority in our population and are vocal and vigilant in trying to deny freedoms to anyone but their own victim class. Choice has a price.

Sincerely,

Why does madison avenue keep pushing “toxic advertising”?

Why do corporations keep buying “toxic ad” campaigns that open merchants up to such attack.

Retailers should understand “toxic ads” destroy profits.

JCPenney should just close its doors.

It grieves me to state this but I'm afraid that marriage as we know it is on the ropes in America. The 'gay' lifestyle is gaining acceptance and using 'tolerance' as the key to that acceptance via 'mainstreaming' homosexual couples, as in the JCP catalog, is a big part of that transformation of attitudes. Co-habitation is somewhere around 40% of all households, today. The illegitimacy rate if huge and, as this thread proves, Corporate America is determined to 'push the envelope' on homosexual lifestyles, pretending, ala Jerry Seinfeld, that 'there's nothing wrong with that'!

Meanwhile, Hollywood cranks out TV shows and movies with always-sympathetic 'gay' characters and promotes the idea that being gay is as 'normal as apple pie' and to object to the homosexual lifestyle is sheer bigotry and probably based on Christian beliefs that the secular world long ago rejected in favor of humanism.

JC Penney and it's hip new CEO may think they're appealing to young buyers but most JCP shoppers are over 30 and many will be turned off by this oh-so subtle attempt to disparage motherhood (as gays disparage marriage) by boldly including lesbians in their ads. I hope it backfires, big time, but when you dangle the 'tolerance' tag in front of otherwise sensible people, they often are persuaded to be 'tolerant' and meekly accept lesbians modeling in their JCP catalog as 'the new normal'.

This is the unpleasant reality we face, today. Negative reaction to this attempt to incorporate lesbians in Penney's ads/catalogs may have some effect on the JCP honchos but, to be frank, in 2012 America, with the current social climate of rampant hedonism and a 'whatever' approach to life by many, I doubt anything will change. And it only took about 40 years to get here. Chilling.

They want a culture war. I've got an idea, let's give them a culture war. "War" means two sides. So far our side hasn't done much except tolerate, compromise, pretend it's not happening, make excuses, and so on. Of course some have fought for morality, but not enough to stem the tide. They want war? Let them have war.

Earlier this year, the group threatened to boycott JC Penney

It's a shame I can't join this boycott. I already "boycott" Penney's because it's a lousy store. Oh, well.
