4 Years Later, Race Is Still Issue for Some Voters (It's not called enemedia for nothing!)

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — This is the land of die-hard Democrats — mill workers, coal miners and union members. They have voted party line for generations, forming a reliable constituency for just about any Democrat who decides to run for office.

But when it comes to President Obama, a small part of this constituency balks.

“Certain precincts in this county are not going to vote for Obama,” said John Corrigan, clerk of courts for Jefferson County, who was drinking coffee in a furniture shop downtown one morning last week with a small group of friends, retired judges and civil servants. “I don’t want to say it, but we all know why.”

A retired state employee, Jason Foreman, interjected, “I’ll say it: it’s because he’s black.”

For nearly three and a half years, a black family has occupied the White House, and much of the time what has been most remarkable about that fact is how unremarkable it has become to the country. While Mr. Obama will always be known to the history books as the country’s first black president, his mixed-race heritage has only rarely surfaced in visible and explicit ways amid the tumult of a deep recession, two wars and shifting political currents....

“They are punching the “racist” button as hard as they can because that’s all they got.”

That in and of itself is risky; it drives away non-racist whites as they realize the descendants of the war contraband will never be placated.

“Couldn’t possibly be that coal miners are becoming aware of his war on their livelihood?”

That particular issue cost Gore WV & KY (and therefore the presidency); did those people hate white people at the time, or simply vote in their best interests?

“I believe the race card is all played out with most Americans. They are going to have to steal this election.”

I agree with you, and I hope it isn’t wishful thinking. Even blacks are worse off than 4 years ago; Obama has failed, and even worse in the voters’ eyes, he thinks he succeeded.

Enemedia = Enemy + Media

I created that name for them while they were cheering every American military death in Iraq.

It's got nothing to do with his race and Barry being Black.
It's about Barry being RED, as in being a Marxist-Communist.

Heck, I don't even care that he's gay [(cough) 'allegedly'].

Race IS the only issue for some voters. They’re generally black, and have been conned into thinking this guy has anything at all in common with them.

This is the untold story in the press. The black vote overwhelmingly went to Obama as it moved from any traditional split netween democtrat and republican and the press does not run stories saying this is because he is black and point out the disconnect.

Yeah,Yeah, everyone is racist according to the New York Slime...Only one question here..If we are racist how did the moron get elected.

I have to say here though I did not vote for the turkey,I did as much homework on the moron as I could find..Checked his family roots and found ever person around him was communist but a few, that few were Muslim..He clung to both devil worshiper religion..Then found out he loved boys or men which ever ...His Nanny was queer so I would guess that is where he turned into what he is today..

As for the NYS they can say what they want to say it does not make it so..Everything from that rag should be blocked from here if it was then not to many people could read it..

What is ominous for the establishment hacks is that the black racialists are moving to the head of the line in the Democratic party. What is coming will make the dry safe language of wealth transfer seem like a ladies tea party.

When liberals say this, they are lying and THEY KNOW THEY ARE LYING. A simple thought experiment is sufficient to establish this. Suppose we had a credible black candidate, who hated abortion and homosexuality, upheld the 2nd amendment, abhorred communism, supported realistic measures to get out of debt, wanted to secure the border, etc.... how would all these "racists" vote. ALL LIBERALS know that 100% of the Tea Party patriots would vote FOR such a black man.

The Republicans had that candidate this year, HERMAN CAIN.

Look at the Democrat and enemedia response, "destroy, must destroy."

“There may indeed be people who vote against him solely because he is Black, but that is probably the smallest category on the list and you have to dig deep to find them — as this shill was obviously willing to do.”

Not to mention, if all the racists are “Republican teabaggers”, as the media claim, then it’s a non-factor electorally. They wouldn’t have voted for Obama, racist or not. The only way racism is a factor is if it deters racist Democrats from voting for him. You won’t see them admit that in their articles though!

What do you find NOT credible about Herman Cain? Are you going to let the enemedia define and pick our candidates?

Unlike 0bama, he is authentically black.

Unlike Romney, he is authentically conservative.

What do you find NOT credible about Herman Cain?

His response to the bimbo eruptions. A genuinely innocent man would have reacted with much purer and vociferous indignation. He seemed almost embarassed, which suggests that there was something to it all.

That said, I'd take him over Romnobamay any day. But he's out of the race now, so it's moot. In the California primary I will be voting for Ron Paul.
