If the real conservatives would jump the ship called GOP, and actually WORK for a party that supports our views, we would have a chance.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter if Goode wins or not, I will vote my conscience and support a CONSERVATIVE. I AM VOTING AGAINST BOTH Obama and Romney - they are two sides of the same coin.

The smart thing would be for all of us to leave the GOP over this and let them go the way of the Whigs while we build up a party that represents us.

No one would be an acceptable VP enough to get me to vote for Romney. It would be hypocritical of me to ever vote for Romney.

I’m out of the GOP over this. I will no longer be played the fool.

Conservatives are to the GOP what blacks are to the Democrat Party.

Work? That sounds too much like...work.

Conservatives will never go for that. We'd rather sit back and grouse about how we got gyped again, while huffing and puffing about how next time, we're really gonna get 'em.

Just like in 2008. And 1996. And 1992.

Face it, conservatism has been killed by the Left. Conservatism is dying of lethargy.

Just being blunt about it, Reaganaut, we don’t despise abortion as much as the abolitionists of their era despised slavery.

We accept a 2 week or a 12 week old pre-born being sliced and diced, or we accept a bastard pre-born from some faulty union being sliced and diced, but we don’t really rail against it. In fact, we vote for it, apparently.

The abolitionists would have been better, I suppose, to have insisted on 40 hours of free time per week for each slave.

Then they could have rested easy.

The didn’t think of that, so they went all out and formed a new party.

That is my only moral, purposeful choice. To vote for conservatives up and down the ticket is the right thing. Jim is right about that. I’ll do that.

But, I’ll also vote Goode for President, since he is the conservative in the race.

However, that vote truly is cast out of futility if I don’t couple that vote with a real purpose. Somehow that vote must be intended for a greater end. That greater end can only be the intention to build a new vehicle for conservatives that has a real chance to win presidential elections.

I am not into casting symbolic votes. I need a real purpose behind my vote. It must be cast as my opening round in the fight to secure a new political home for my conservative beliefs.

To refuse to vote for the “lesser of two evils” puts one in the position of support for the greater of the same two evils by the simple act of not standing in the way of the greater evil’s eventually triumph.
