Why Anti-bullying Programs Should be Bullied Out of School

Many commentators have noted the irony of anti-bullying “expert” Dan Savage’s “bullying” (as defined by his ilk) of high-school students at a recent journalism conference in Seattle, Washington. Yet it seems that the most important points about the matter have not been made.

In case you missed the story, homosexual activist Savage called two dozen students “pansy-a***d” as they were walking out of his anti-bullying presentation last month. Their offense? They took exception to his profanity-laced criticism of Christianity, in which he equated biblical condemnations of homosexual behavior with the prohibition against eating shellfish and said “We ignore the b******t in the Bible about all sorts of things.”

Now, I could emphasize that Savage targeted minors with his bile, which was reminiscent of the 2000 Democratic National Convention attendees who actually booed a contingent of Boy Scouts who appeared on stage. And this typical leftist lack of class, self-control, and sense of propriety brings us to the first point. It’s not just that Savage issued intellectually vacuous criticisms of the Bible, conflating ceremonial and moral law, which was bad enough. It’s that he couldn’t even — while speaking to kids — manage to mind his tongue while doing it. He’s a good example of why adults no longer command youths’ respect: Adults are no longer respectable.

Savage’s criticism was motivated, ostensibly, by his belief that biblical condemnations of homosexuality lead to the bullying of homosexual kids. Okay, perhaps. But then doesn’t it follow that his ilk’s condemnations of Christianity could lead to the bullying of Christian kids?

Only solution? Get rid of government schools and any role government has in education. Then parents will be able to choose the school they want for their kids, and the schools will have to be responsive to the needs and concerns of their clients.

As long as the dinosaur known as public school keeps floundering in the tar pits, education in this country will continue to be in decline.

Just another leftist twisting of words to advance their agenda.

“Everyone” knows what “bullying” really is - bigger kids picking on smaller kids without mercy. It’s awful. Everyone hates it, wants it to stop, and supports “anti-bullying” as a concept.

Then the left, minions of Satan the word twister himself,
co-opted the bullying concept to mean “speaking negative things about homosexuals and homosexuality”.

Bullying demonstrated by a bully while teaching about not bullying? He must be a liberal.

Here is the thing about bullying. When we as a society and culture decided to teach all kids, especially boys that it was not ok to fight or be a part of conflict even in defense of yourself or others, we reduced the potential of their character and turned them into victims.

I was in 8th grade and had been the target of bullying for several years when my father finally told me, “If it happens again, you first tell Tommy that you are going to punch him in the face. When it happens again, you attack him and let him know he’ll get a fight everytime until it stops.”

I sat in the principle’s office for 3 recesses following the events that transpired the next day. The bullying stopped and several other kids quit putting up with it as well. I learned a valueable lesson that day that would last me a lifetime. There is a time and a place to stand up for yourself or others. I didn’t get so much as a talking to about the event at home (that was a first).

In highschool I was in 4 physical altercations. One of them was to stand up for myself against two kids older and bigger than I. The other 3 were to stand up for someone else that was getting picked on. I never served a day of detention for those offenses. As I told on of the teachers that asked me about it, It’s a fight Jesus Christ would have fought.

We need to go back to teaching our chilrdren to not be victims. Use your wit and your intelligence first. Suck up a little pride and bight your tongue now and then. Tell a teacher about the problems. But when enough is enough, take control of the situation and defend yourself and/or the victim. Be strong of spirit and will.

The so-called “Anti-Bullies” just want to be the ones doing the bullying.

That idiot Savage’s behavior was right out of a recent South Park episode.
I dare that a##hat to try that with some adults who can dish it back to him.

While test scores in math and sciences continue to plummet, schools spend more time and taxpayer dollars on feel good self esteem programs like this anti-bullying BS. Yes, when I was in school I was bullied as was just about everyone else, but we somehow survived and were not physiologically crippled by the experience. Today our schools are turning out precious little snowflakes who have never had hurt feelings, never were bullied, were never traumatized by being given a failing grade were given constant doses of feeling good about themselves and who have little real education and are unprepared for what they will encounter in the real world.

My kids go through this PC, educrat “anti-bullying” re-education nonsense regularly in their schools.

My wife, kids and I all have a good laugh at the never-ending cliches, and we analyze with our kids the underlying agenda of those promoting it, both good and bad.
