O’HARA, Pa. – Tagg Romney, the eldest son of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, announced via Twitter that he and his wife Jen have new twin boys, delivered by a surrogate today.

“Happy 2 announce birth of twin boys David Mitt and William Ryder. Big thanks to our surrogate. Life is a miracle,” Tagg tweeting, linking to a photo of himself and one of his new sons.

This the second time that Tagg, 42, and his wife, Jen,39, have used a surrogate. The same surrogate was used for the twins carried their youngest son Jonathan, who was born in August of 2010. Their other three children were not born via surrogacy.

“Personally, my husband and I would accept God’s will and remain childless or adopt.”

Thank you for posting that, Cicinna.

I didn’t know at first how to react to this set of facts. I guess the rest of us will be forced to just stand by and accept the parents’ selfishness. Maybe being bathed in money for so long has impaired their judgement.

Very strange.

I’m quite shocked by the response of many FReepers who claim to be pro-life conservatives.
I think there must be a lot of confusion as to what exactly birth by surrogate mother means.
In vitro fertilization or IVF is a process by which eggs are surgically removed from one woman and sperm donated by a man. grown in a Petrie dish, then the best quality embryo from the many created is implanted in the uterus of a second woman.
There is a good article on IVF in Wikipedia.

Thank you. No one I know has gotten mixed up in this “surrogate” mother business. Of course, no one I know has inherited tens of millions of dollars.

They say that you can buy anything (on earth) if you have enough money. I’m not sure God agrees with that.

“Ten to 20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, the actual number of miscarriages is unknown (thought to be up to 50%) because many pregnancies fail before the mother even knows she is pregnant. If that is the case, should we ban all conceptions because of the deaths that occur?”

No, because in that case, that’s the way God planned it.

“I see nothing in the article that says she had IVF.”

The fact that they had twins is pretty strong evidence for IVF.

I have a sick mind for objecting to people mixing up a batch of humans in a lab and then killing most of them? Okay...

“If you found out your husband was sterile, would you leave him because he couldn’t make babies with you? What would you do if you found out that carrying a child to term would kill you? Leave all your friends and family and become a recluse in the mountains?”

Ummm no. Maybe we would just be happy with the children God gave us and live out the rest of our lives happily?

“Concubinage” is a word like “heretic”...

Will Roper: “That’s not a word I like, Sir Thomas!”

Thomas More: “It is a likeable word. It is not a likeable thing.”

If you want hate you should see some of those anti-FR websites. Like one of yours.

The little tart got rich. Do you think she regrets it?

She'll never have to work her whole life.

and these are the type of people who come here and go to their anti-FR forums and spew their own hate while complaining and accusing others of hate.

yep weird. most of my relatives from the 1800’s had their wakes held at home in the living room.

Funeral homes are a fairly new expense that 4 generations ago would have been weird.
