Ron Paul, Rand Paul to hold Texas rally with Tea Party Express
Washington Post ^ | 30 April 2012 | Felicia Sonmez

The father-and-son duo will hold a rally Sunday afternoon at the Texas Capitol in Austin. The national group Tea Party Express is sponsoring the rally, and Ted Cruz, a tea-party favorite who is running for the GOP nod to succeed retiring Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.), is also expected to attend. The Lone Star State holds its primary May 29.

According to the latest Associated Press count, Paul is far behind GOP front-runner Mitt Romney in the delegate race; the libertarian-leaning Texas congressman, who has not won a single caucus or primary, has garnered only 80 delegates to Romney’s 841.

Even so, Paul continues to draw thousands of attendees at his events on college campuses and elsewhere, and to hear his national campaign chairman, Jesse Benton, tell it, this Sunday’s event will be nothing less than “historic.”

“The nation already witnessed history twice when a sitting U.S. Senator — Rand Paul — campaigned for his father — Ron Paul — for the presidency,” Benton said in a statement. “It occurred ahead of the Ames Straw Poll where Ron Paul was statistically tied for first place, and again during a daylong whistle-stop tour the Pauls held prior to the Iowa Caucus.

We still have sanctuary cities here in Texas, still have porous borders, in state tuition for bambino’s of illegal alien Mexicans.

Our emergency rooms are filled throughout the night with illegals seeking medical care, our prison system consist of 30% illegal alien inmate population.

Insurance rates for automobiles are through the roof to protect us from illegals who crash into our citizens w/o the financial means to restore them whole.

Millions in hard earned tax dollars going to provide bilingual education for bambino’s of illegal aliens, dropout rates at 50% among Hispanics.

Crime in major urban areas is staggering, elevated substantially by foreign criminals, not to mention over 50,000 murders along the Mexican border over the last decade as drug cartels lob grenades at one another, fire automatic weapons all over border towns.

All under the leadership of Rick Perry and David Dewhurst!

TED CRUZ for Senate 2012.

His “moderate” opponent, David Dewhurst has painted Cruz as an evil Chinese-paid lawyer. Never mind that Cruz, a Cuban freedom-fighter’s son, is brilliant, served his internship under Chief Justice Rehnquist, and has had a stellar career, winning several rulings by the Supreme Court in favor of Texas as the state’s Solicitor General.

The slimy campaign run by Dewhurst identifies him as one of those “no lie to big to tell if it will win an election.” He sounds just like a Democrat and should have been ousted from office long ago.

Shouldn’t Ron Paul still be campaigning? What was Paul’s strategy, attack all Republican candidates except Romney? Or is this the victory lap because Romney has got 841 delegates and there is no real contender left in the race?

I suppose Cruz can do nothing to stop Paul from being there.
I just hate to see them linked via the tea party.

"Sure hope Ted Cruz and Tea Party Express has the good sense to not be co-mingling with ronpaul."

?? Can't the Tea Party be against wars that have not been formally declared by Congress and for sound currency?

I understand Perry’s endorsement of the Dew, I just hope he isn’t actively campaigning for the guy.

It looks like Ron Paul will win in Maine today. His people have won the first two votes today. You would never know Paul has no chance by the convention here today.
