Boston Globe: Bad week may haunt Warren - Handling of controversy is roundly criticized
Boston Globe ^ | May 5, 2012 | Noah Bierman and Frank Phillips

Elizabeth Warren fumbled through her worst stretch as a Senate candidate this week, setting off a debate among strategists over whether the controversy over her claims to Native American ancestry would linger when the November election is closer.

The Warren campaign will not say when top advisers learned that she considered herself part-Native American, but it was an element of her biography that seemed to catch them off guard.

When news emerged last Friday that Harvard Law School had publicly touted Warren as a Native American professor in the Harvard Crimson in the 1990s, Warren advisers saw it as a story that would go away quickly.

But the story took added dimension when it was revealed that Warren had listed herself as a minority in a major legal directory.

The fallout and her unsteady response to it subjected the rookie Democratic Senate candidate to tough questions, an unflattering national glare, and a recognition from others that she had hit her first real stumble. The Washington Post’s political blog, The Fix, gave Warren the dubious honor “Worst Week in Washington."

“I have yet to run into anyone in politics who believes that this was handled well at all," said Jennifer Duffy, a senior editor at The Cook Political Report who tracks Senate races around the country. “The explanations have left enormous room for doubt and speculation."

Right: Little Chief Running Mouth dress-um in native garb after her step-um in heap deep doo doo!

The poor “Glob” now they’re going to have to work overtime to help get her elected. They thought her candidacy was going to be a walk in the park.

“No worries though - I predict she wins anyway”

I wouldn’t bet on that, Brown has been playing it right down the middle, Conservatives will not vote for Warren, she isn’t picking up independents (and he isn’t ticking them off). I think he has a decent shot at re-election.

I believe that a lot of the mystery that surrounds the history of the current occupant of the Withe House is due to his unwillingness to reveal just how he had gamed the affirmative action system. When he wanted special treatment as a foreign student, his country of origin was Kenya, or, perhaps, Indonesia. When he wanted to be president, he was born in Hawaii.

“...she was basically claiming credit for figuring out how to crap on a cop car.”

Hadn’t you heard? The whole incident with the police car and rapes was an NYPD setup. Yes, they sent homeless/vagrants down to Zucotti Park to make the genuine OWS protesters look bad. We have it on the authority and word of the organizer who appeared on Hannity the other night.

It says she just had a “bad week”. As if this just happened to her.

That is a funny and apt Indian name. [Oh quelle horreur, I didn’t use the PC term. Does this mean I can be a prof at Harvard, just like Hocumhontas?] It’s also exactly Selwyn Duke’s point. He argued that she’s not so much racist as just not a very bright bulb. He made his case brilliantly, and I laughed so hard I was in physical pain.

1240 WMMB in Melbourne, Florida runs Dennis Miller at 8 PM ET weekdays. Don't know if they stream it but it looks like they are part of iHeartRadio and you should be able to listen there if not at their website.

To all: Dennis is like Scotch, an acquired taste, but if you give him a few weeks you will really appreciate him. A Libertarian / Conservative mix.

Is this him?

In all seriousness, I caught an interview with that organizer on Hannity's radio show driving home last night. The kid was so filled with rage that he couldn't express a coherent thought, much less carry on a conversation. He did manage to actually tell Sean he hated him and that Fox News has duped the American public. It was funny for the first couple minutes, but soon it became apparent that this was a very dark, disturbed and pitiful person.

Is she proud for the Cuyahoga 5? The Occupy Cleveland protestors who attempted to blow up a bridge in Ohio—among other things? Thankfully they look like stoners who couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag, but what if...?

Is she proud for the Cuyahoga 5?

I'm hoping Scott Brown asks her something like that...during a debate or in some ads!

It’s really sad when you get past all the nonsense. We laugh at them but they take themselves ever so seriously. And believe every word they say.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of D-leaning ‘normal’ people who’ve bought into the evil Republican/Fox meme. I have two friends who just wouldn’t be caught dead voting R or watching Fox, ans think there is something seriously wrong with me. These are otherwise perfectly normal, pillar of the community, you could trust them with your life types. They would find this guy nuts too, tho.

Isn't Elizabeth Warren the Commie who said that she'd had her eye on (self-described) Communist Van Jones for a long time and was happy to have him join them as a White-House czar?

It's outrageous that a bonifide Communist puke such as this scum-bag would even get anywhere near the White House or any political office.

What's happening to us?

You know she’s in trouble when 2 Democrat state representatives have endorse Sen. Brown. Hopefully this is the beginning of a trend.
